Geoje for a month

Hi all

I'm going out to Geoje to work at a shipyard for a month on the 15th September. There's a good chance I could get some evenings and weekends to myself to go climbing so is it worth me bringing some gear? Does anyone fancy meeting up for a climb, I'm only really leading 5.7 but will second or top rope harder or even try a lead on harder if needs be. How much climbing is there within a realistic disance of Geoje? Any assistance or advice would be most appreciated. Many thanks in advance,

Chris

hi,
there is at least one other climber on the island (tim). I'm in busan, a 40 minute ferry ride from you. And we climb pretty much all the time. so if you can get off the island on the weekends, you can definitely join us. plus i've heard stories about an epic crag on goeje. sobringyourstuff.

Geoje's got a whole crew! Keeps growing too. There is a crazy amount of sport climbing around these parts. Bring all your gear and you will not regret it. The ship yard in Okpo has a hand full of foreign climbers and Samsung has a whole team of Koreans. I climb every weekend and get in some artificial wall stuff when i can on the weekdays. Within an hour there are four crags. and there are more not too much further out. PM me when you get here and I will get you sorted.

Thanks for the replies. I leave the UK tomorrow and I'll bring my harness and shoes. Hopefully I'll meet up with some of you and try some Korean climbing.
