Looking for climbing partner(s) in Seoul

Hello,

My (main) climbing partner just left Korea, and I'm looking for some other people interested in climbing at walls(/in gyms) around Seoul.

Due to my schedule, I am really only able to climb in Seoul, and mornings are better for me than other times of day (although depending on the day, afternoons/evenings may be possible). Weekdays are great, and weekends are also okay. If possible, I prefer to climb on the terrific, FREE artificial walls in Seoul. (Occasionally, I may be able to go outside Seoul for a day of rock climbing.)

If this sounds too constricting, don't give up on me! I am punctual, very safety-focused, can lead and belay well, and have all of my own gear. I'm an easy-going climbing partner (but I like to climb well). Even if you just want to climb and train together during the week, but you like to take off on weekend trips to the mountains, I don't mind being left behind! Likewise, if you don't have time during the week, but need a partner for some weekend wall warrior-type activity, also good! (I'm a very understanding partner, not jealous/possessive at all! Just don't be flaky... )

SO...if you need a partner to do fun, enduro-seshes on great, free artificial walls in Seoul (especially on weekday mornings when we have the wall mostly to ourselves!--bliss!), let's get in touch!

Also, although I have mostly done sport climbing, I am also open to the occasional weekDAY trip to Insu-bong for trad. (I am not a huge fan of slab, but I do like trad and multi-pitch. I am NOT an experienced trad climber, so I am not comfortable leading. However, I am willing to belay well and follow a safety-conscious lead climber, and am also keen to learn more if you're cool with those conditions.)

Hope to hear from some people who are keen on climbing lots and soon!

Hi Dave,

Sorry for the late reply. I don't visit this site often enough, obviously!

It sounds like you are already in Seoul? That's cool. If you are interested, a couple of us are going wall climbing in Seoul on Wednesday, from 10:30~3:00, and a few of us might be going again on Saturday. (Not confirmed yet.) Send a PM if you're interested in joining up!

If this week doesn't work for you, there's always next week.

Cheers!

Open to novice climbers? I have a harness, quick draws, 8 descender/rapid belay , locking biners and webbing. Lots of webbing.

Interested in bouldering, artficial etc.

Oh and I am a certified US emt so I can patch you up if need be.

Tae

Yes, novice climbers are welcome too. As for your being able to patch me up if need be...you DO know how to belay, right?

Webbing is always good. Do you want to put up a slackline?

I know HOW to set up a belay, give slack, tighten
but do I have a lot if experience? Nope.

Think it'd be best if we did some practice to make sure
I dont' have to use any of those EMT skills.

Most my experience had been with friends bouldering 3~6 meters,
maybe a little more. What little I do know was through a Redcross
basic mountaineering course but it was mostly abseiling.
