BASE Jumpers

Hey guys,

MisterP 07-08-2010 02:07 PM

Have you ever done a skydive?

MisterP 07-15-2010 12:10 AM

no but i am working on getting my paragliding certification... i understand they are not the same, but i would love to learn it all.

fasterisbest 07-15-2010 12:13 AM

where are you doing your paragliding certification?

MisterP 07-15-2010 02:03 PM

masan, with a rad guy named Mr. Park. I am sure he is into base jumping. He is into everything extremely dangerous. I will ask him if he can get me started so i can join ya'll.

Cool. But, before you get to keen. Here's a good place to start:

Thanks for the articles. I am going to continue to look through them and figure out what i think. Spatula is informative in a morbid way but good stuff to know. the second website should definitely be listed afterwards and i appreciate your choice in doing so.

I did not consider this much but one article states:

"When you ask someone to teach you to BASE jump you need to understand the magnitude of your request."

and then goes on to list why. haha... oops.
well, if i ever get my stats up and ready to jump i will let ya'll know. till then safe journeys and let me know if you are interested in paragliding and/or climbing.

So, has anyone anymore information about BASE? I would love to take my FJC... but I dunno if there's any around?

Mr.P - where are you taking the paragliding course...? Could you provide some details?

Confuscious - How many skydives do you have?

Confuscious 12-23-2010 08:50 AM

I've been looking around in Korea but to not much luck.

Is there anything that is just strictly just a base jump course without needing to sky dive first? Or it seems to be a natural progression from sky diving to base jumping...?

Mmmm...a BASE course without needing to do a skydive? Well, sure I guess you could, but I guarantee you will 100% DIE. The bare minimum recommended skydives is 200. BASE jumping, arguably, is the most dangerous sport in the world. It kills 1 in 60 participants. Did you look at the links posted earlier in this thread? Please do.
BASE jumping without skydiving first is like trying to run when you don't even know how to walk.

There is skydiving in Korea. There is skydiving in Seoul. You can learn how to skydive here and you can do tandems. It is one of the coolest places in the world to jump. All the equipment is top notch. Why don't you come do a tandem skydive first?

Confuscious 12-24-2010 07:13 PM

awesome!!

I've been trying to look for skydiving places in Korea, but couldn't find too much information apart from the "but it's all in korean!"...

Are you part of a sky diving school? or club/league here?

Could you provide details?

Thanks!!
