Vertical to overhanging mostly on an interesting rock that varied from crumbly to slick with quartz-like crystalline. . . and some odd criss-crossing layers. . . anyone knowing Geology could have a "field day" (yuk yuk).

19 routes, most well bolted (every meter) and the ones we tried-- interesting! Many old bolts have been chopped and several routes have been rebolted. Routes are from 12-15 meters, at least 9 routes are graded 5.10.

From Yong-in (Yangji IC) head S on road 17. If you're coming from Daejeon or Cheongju in the S on I-35, you can also head N on 17. In Baekam, you'll head S on road 325. . . until the sign for Jobisan Garden Restaurant. You'll see the mountain with obvious rock faces from the road. Follow the signs to the restaurant and there's a big parking lot. The hiking trail (wooden steps) leads up to the rock face. There's a fitness park just below the first bolts, and a huge cave (the size of a rock gym-- bigger than some!!) with some routes, and more if you head right.

Safety Concerns
Many rusty bolts and very dodgy anchors. I'd bring extra cold or webbing and/or leaver-biners on a return trip! Some bad bolts have been chopped; some have been replaced. Not sure what to think of the bolts that stick out an inch? Most seem placed in solid rock, but the rock definitely has crumbly parts. . . a helmet might be smart.

Gear to Bring
A dozen draws would work-- many routes are so well protected, you can reach down and grab a draw after you clip the next one! Some sharp rock, with toothy crystals; some chossy rock, that seems like it shouldn't be on the same crag. You might get a nut or small placement, but there are so many bolts that would be of negligible use. one 50 meter rope (or even one cut to 40!) is all you'd need as 15m is the highest route.

Additional Comments
Near Yongin/Icheon, though you really need a car. Probably not likely to attract folks from far and wide, but if you're in the area, it ain't bad. . . or rather, it has some do-able and even interesting routes! Well-bolted routes(as in bolts are plentiful), though the area could use some maintainence. The fitness park and hiking attracts some locals, and even on a rainy fall weekend, there were some hikers. There's a cool cave that isn't trashed or stinky!

This place has changed quite a bit since these pictures were taken. I will be adding info and pictures ASAP.

Also see the page for Jobisan, which is about the same crag.
