Gwanaksan Sanbau (산바우)
Submitted on June 17th, 2015 by chersland Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Seoul
photo Granite crag with about 17 bolted routes. Mostly vertical climbs, with some overhanging or slabby parts. Mostly good quality rock, with some loose/"rotten" parts of the crag.

The routes vary in length, from around 10 m to around 25 m. The bolts and anchors generally look very new and safe. There is, however, some dubious webbing used at the anchors on most routes, but this is in addition to the good-looking wires that are also used.... [Read More]

Gyeonggi Climbing
Submitted on May 9th, 2011 by blacklotus Type: Gyms    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Gunpo
photo Open weekdays from 17 - 23:00. Closed on holidays.

Gyeonggi Climbing (경기 글라이밍) is a simple basement bouldering gym, and the holds are old but nicely varied. It features some excellent fingerboards, plenty of steep to vertical climbing surface, and most importantly, there's much good energy here!

Who owns the gym isn't clear to me. But a warm-hearted woman named 박미영 (you can call her Mi-yeong) seems to run the place. She speaks decent English as well. Like at most Korean g... [Read More]

Hanyang University 자연암장
Submitted on June 5th, 2006 by skinsk Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Seoul
photo Granite aid/trad/sport practice wall smack in the "middle" of Seoul! There's a 5.10 sport route with artificial holds, an arching crack (under a roof) for aid or trad practice (two nuts and numerous pitons are fixed, but still some room to place small wires and maybe an alien. A short trail right from the staircase down would let you fix a TR, but except maybe the corner crack (a hard slabby near featureless route) there's little possibility.... [Read More]

Hera Sports Climbing

photo This bouldering gym opened about 6 months ago but still looks brand new. They obviously go to great lengths to keep this place clean and tidy. It seems to be very welcoming and pleasant and there are always a few high level climbers hanging around ready to give you a challenge.

The owner is really passionate about climbing and speaks good english (he regularly goes climbing on the mountains on the weekends and will invite anyone who's eager to join) and the manager also speaks English well so you won't have to worry about making yourself un... [Read More]

Boulding and Lead climbing only on this wall. It is about 30ft tall. The staff speaks english but most of them don't know alot about climbing. If you are lead certified by taking the class at MP Hill Gym then you are good to go. If you want to get lead certified just contact the number on the POC Sign on the walls if you want to get cerified at another time. Once you are certified you can c... [Read More]
