It's above King mart, inside the M&F Sports Club, in a room off to the right when you enter the club. It's open when the club is: M-F 6-12, Sat 6-10.
I was offered a month free, then negotiable cost. I am guessing they're being friendly to foreigners, and maybe want to see how much you use the place?... [Read More]

Bouldering gym in Jeonju, replacing Kim's and Jeonju Climbing Center as the only public gym in town. It's still pretty new, but large, with bouldering walls ranging from almost vertical to quite steep. Campus boards and hangboards. . . Some fitness machines, a belt massager, weight belts, changing room, magazine library.
Membership is W50,000 monthly and the gym is usually open. They generally do trips to local crags on Sunday.... [Read More]

Basement Gym with cut out in the roof with some short lead or top rope problems. It has a cave in the center and most of the walls are overhung, but there is a "beginner" area. The people are nice and some of them speak a little english. I've seen everything from beginner lessons to a core of very strong regulars who justify the overhung conditions. There variety of training gear, from weights to fingerboards, though much of it is hung upside down or on inclines. It gets VERY hot in here in the summer months.... [Read More]

This is a brand new bouldering gym, built by Jin Tec Jeon and the Bolt Rock climbing club. It is fairly small, but the people are very friendly and as of Dec. 2007 all of the holds are brand-new!!! There are a few of the traditional 20+ move routes, but there are also many boulder problems as well.
Jin Tec speaks English, climbs hard, and is a great teacher.
Membership is 30 dollars per month.
Hours for the gym are not set in stone. Call the gym to see if anyone will be around when you want to go!... [Read More]

Busan Climbing Center

It doesn't look like much from the outside-- easier to miss than to find, almost-- but it's a pretty nice place, with friendly people. It's long and narrow, with walls of varing steepness.
1 month is W60,000 (there are many membership options that bring down the price--see photo of options list). Once you join, you have access to the gym anytime.
Most weekends or at least Sunday they go to nearby outdoor climbing areas. They offer lessons in various climbing disciplines. Opened in 1999 by Pak Jeong-yong 010-4593-4339 (Korean)... [Read More]
