Moving to Seoul-need to climb

Hi

I'm moving to Seoul (Yeongdeungpo area) sometime in the next month. I am looking for: anyone in the area that might be interested in climbing (I have only climbed indoors but I boulder, top rope and lead in Canada and would like to try outdoors), a near-ish climbing gym and also wondering if it would be smarter to buy new shoes here before I go or to buy them there..

From Yeongdeungpo the closest gym might be Seo Jung Kuk's gym, located near Dangsan station. I know a few foreign-types are regular members there. As for shoes, you'll probably find a greater selection in canada, and more sizes too, though prices for shoes in korea arent too bad. Do it in canada and you'll lose no time climbing in korea!

Was fairly blown away by ACE gym. Seriously the best atmosphere of ANY korean gym I've been in. Its at Daelim station, line 7. search the gyms on this site for details.
