GEPIK orientation this week?

First, thank you skinsk for having messaged me about the Meet & Greet idea. I'm a newcomer in Korea and am simply learning the local area (Anyang) before traveling or exploring a wider scope.

However, on Wednesday I'll board a bus to Yangpyeong-gun, where apparently YBM is conducting a seminar for GEPIK teachers.

Will anyone else be attending? If so, we certainly ought to meet up!

Well, can't help you here anyway. . . as I'm not in GEPIK (or Gyeonggi) but I might suggest you wear a climbing T-shirt or clip a climbing carabiner to your pack-- I know others whom have met fellow climbers this way!

I wouldn't wait to get out if the weather is good-- spring can be iffy, and before long the rainy, sweltering summer will be here, and many areas will be too lush and buggy! Too many places to see that are way nicer than Anyang! and will be much more inspiring for a beginner!

Yeah, for that reasons I've almost ordered one of those red Mountain Equipment t-shirts Dave MacLeod's selling on his store. Too late for that now!

Maybe I'll stuff my smelly old Miuras into the pouch on my sack. That way if they're not visually noticed sticking out, other climbers can at least detect them by smell. Probably not such a good idea

The weather in Anyang is horrid right now, but perhaps will improve.

Do you mean, nicer than Anyang area crags? Or Korean cities? Beginner resident in Korea? Or beginner climber? I'm the former, but not the latter...
