Yo -

This seems like the right place to jump on - I'm moving to Seoul in a few weeks and wanted to start figuring out the local climbing scene before I arrive.

It sounds like K2 is the best gym option in the city?

What discipline of climbing are the Seoul climbers into? Personally, I've been all about sport for the past few years; though I am comfortable placing gear and on multipitch as well (and bouldering...though its not my favorite anymore).

I'd say a majority of climbers in Seoul these days are pretty fresh, just kind of starting off, and generally they're mostly Sport climbers. During the week they either boulder in basement gyms, sport climb at outdoor walls like Ttukseom Resort and Gwangmyeong, or do both at big gyms like K2 or North Face. There are a few seasoned vets who dig trad and have all the gear. Bouldering in Seoul sucks in the summer, and one of the best areas to boulder is kind of getting closed down for a very long time, so I'm not sure how that'll look come fall, but at that time a few of us will be doing that or sport climbing every weekend.

so to answer your question, you typically won't have a hard time finding someone to do any discipline, you just need to come to one of the meet and greets and meet everyone.

I hate K2, but its probably the best gym for training. It lacks something, I'm not sure what. Soul? Heart? Something. I'll be there next tuesday night if you want to check it out and haven't already.
