Pokpo, Pokpo, Yongseo Pokpo anyone?!?!?!???? I kept hearing about this place called Yongseo Pokpo, I heard the climbing is just awful there, but that everyone should check it out at least once, I was thinking this might be a good weekend to do it, whose down???

Yongseo Pokpo is the best climbing area on the planet. There's a bit of learning curve because the rock is basalt, so it climbs differently from other rock. I'm not sure if I'll make it out this weekend, but I'll try.

Take the bus/train to Yongseo Pokpo is located in Gurye, which is:
-1 and a half hours from Gwangju by bus.
-3 hours from Busan by bus
-3 and a half hours from Seoul Nambu Terminal by bus

Once in Gurye you need to take a taxi to Yongseo Pokpo ~7000won

My girlfriend and I are planning to go. If we can sort out the bus to take, where to stay etc. Is it easy to get a room in the coffee shop/place to stay near the spot? is there a jimjilbang close by where one can crash?

Hey dude, as far as I know there is no jimjilbang near the crag maybe in gurye, there might be a place to crash in the village but this place is also an amazing camping spot. I'd recommend trying to track down some gear or go barebones (cheap tarp and sleeping bags) there are plenty of tent spots to pitch and two fire pits too.

Do it up, this place is amazing.
