Thumbs up Trip to Jangsudae

My recent trip to Jangsudae was fun and is highly recommended to all climbers. Also, I put revised, in-depth directions to reach Jangsuedae and the climbing area.

Awesome bro, just awesome. I am itching to hit this up....what grade roughly would you rate Go-rak at? Sounds like a plan in the offing.

I'm heading there when I get back to Korea, say mid-July. . .I plan to be around Seorak for about 10 days. . .

One piece

In Konglish. . . one piece means "dress" (as opposed to skirt and blouse). . . last week, it refered to how much trad pro (a #3) was placed on Mireukjanggeunbong! I led 3.5 of the easier pitches, running out 2 the whole length (missed an old piton, but otherwise the 5.5-6 pitches) and merely clipping the fixed gear on the 5.7/8 . . . Dong-il gets total credit for doing the up-to-10a pitches without pro. . . the thing is, the worst lead, a 10a slab with lots of runout. . . is unprotectable anyway. . . the hardest cracks can be aided, making them immeasurably easier (just bring some aiders if the well-worn webbing wigs you!) . . . worst case scenario. . . you are turned back (damnit!). . . it's a fun/"challenging"/exposed climb. . .

Thanks Dong-il for coming out!!
