What up? I am considering moving to S. Korea for a year or so. However, I was wondering if there is anything steep to climb. B/c from the pics, it all looks pretty low angle with an ocasional mini-roof here and there. I'm talking about sweet continuous 45 degrees overhanging routes. Thats my bread and butter yo!! Just curious...

welcome to the site, jhur!

definitely! at seonunsan(Soksal Bawi), there is plenty of steep stuff. nothing 45 degree and sustained, but a whole wall of 5.12 - 5.13c-d+. it's all overhanging and not an inch of slab. enough to get anyone worked in a day.

how long do you expect 45 degrees to be sustained?

Hey

i posted a bit of info about where i would recommend living if i were a climber here.

Soksal is about 4 hours from seoul.

if you like steep, get out of seoul. seoul has lots of slab climbing. thats why i never go up there. ;)

to stay close to hard sport climbing, look fr jobs in Jeonju, Ganhyeon, Jeongeup (small town) or Daejoen(where i am). from daejeon its only 2 hours to some of the hardest climbing in korea. there's usually a group to go down with and if not, there's ALWAYS people there.

if you find a job, let us know who its with and where its at and we might be able to give you some avice

later

Hey Man,

Thanks for all your feedback. You really have me psyched up now about making a move there. I'll definitely let you know how things turn out. Once again, thank you for everything.

I hope to meet you someday...

peace,

jhur
