Welcome and thanks for taking the time to check out Korea on the Rocks.

The forum can be used for a number of things like finding climbing partners, checking directions, getting beta on general or specific climbs or about a good place to grab a few beers after a climb.

The main point is to keep it respectful, honest and informative.

See you on the rocks,
Eric

I am a recent arrival to ROK and I have been piecing together beta and info. I definitley agree that there needs to be more beta translated into english for visiting ex-pats and registered aliens, like me.
I am more interested in trad, have gear but no car any one keen to get away from just sporting and with a positive attitude then I'm keen.
I try and update an area near Daegu.
I see some potential for further developement in an already existing place. Peace

Welcome to korea and thanks for submitting beta from around Daegu.

Your last photo didn't upload completely. I don't know what happened, but could your try again. It looks like a good photo to have on the site!

Eric

Hey Eric, Do you have an IM function on this sight it would greatly facilitate meetings and organizing without sucking up a lot of forum space.
Also what about and edit option or an online climbing guide for various areas, downloadable pdf etc.???
I know these things take time. I would like to say how much I aprreciate what you've don't so far. Just asking, don't want to seem pushy. Peace brother. hopefully we can get a climb in one of these times

antepater,

thanks for the recommendations! Thats what I need to hear now.

As for an IM or Personal Messaging function, I had planned on building it into the page. But, I also really wanted to launch the page before spring came around so I skipped it... for now. I definitely agree that it would be super convenient!

I assume you are talking about an edit option if you submitted a comment or climbing area. That's one reason I made the comment function. It is also another issue of getting the page out there sooner.

the other two things "online climbing guide" and "downloadable PDF" i am not sure what you mean. could you explain that so i could see if its something I can put on the site.

finally, member profile. i chose to keep the personal info to a minumum so as to encourage people to join the site without a lot of personal info being devulged. On the other hand, what were you thinking of? qoutes? avatars? signatures? or personal info like age, names, phone numbers and emails?

anyway, thanks again for your input on the site as well as all your submissions. I really appreciate your (and everyone's) ideas! Keep them coming and I will make the changes necessary to Korea On The Rocks!

Later
Eric

Quick intro time I guess,...

I'm a 3+ year Daegu res who just really started climbing about a year ago. Gathering courage while sport climbing is the name of the game now. I'm good friends with both Tyler and Tom and have many other buds who climb around here. I have a bunch of gear for both the rock and camping, as well as the wheels to move about. I look forward to meeting some of you guys soon.
Tks.....Todd

Hi, I am in Korea since last week and it looks like I will be here until August. Most of my weekends in the last two years I spent climbing sandstone rocks in Germany and would like to check out the rocks over here. Is there anybody out there that has sympathy with a rock addicted Austrian and can show me some areas?
