2012/may 4-6 Meet and Greet Food Thread

A communal dinner Sat and breakfast Sun are always highlights.

Post what you have and what you can bring or sponsor (and find someone here who can bring it).

I'll bring an ice chest and . . . well, I'll wait to see what's needed, but I have some extra plates and eating utensils, pots and pans and utensils (caveat: they are vegetarian), 3 stoves. . . Everyone should try to bring plate, cup, utensils, though. . .

Below is a sign up list for the South of the Border Sat and Pancake breakfast. If you sign up than please come and bring it. Say how many you will bring. Watch the main thread to get an idea how many folks will be there-- but bring what you can! Feel free to add your own specialty. . . that 7 layer dip a few years ago was brilliant!! Copy the list and paste with your name added! Also check to see if the items are available near you-- if you live near Costco and are a member or are coming from a base, then please sign up for the specialties. . . . consider price. If you bring onions, please bring more. . . if you bring sour cream or tequilla, you're good!

Dinner:

tortillas:
salsa:
or
onions:
tomatoes:
garlic:
salsa spices: Sonia
cheese:
refried beans:

bell peppers:
hot peppers:

avacados:
sour cream:

limes:
other drinks:

Breakfast

pancake mix:

bananas:
maple syrup:
butter:
coffee:
milk:

Incidentals:

oil:
stoves: Sonia-3
frying pans: Sonia-1
spatulas: Sonia-1
pots: Sonia-1
coffee makers. . . (what kind?): French Press: Sonia-1

I intend on cooking adobo (Saturday) again which generally contains meat. I may try to prepare a vegetarian version, however I cannot say how it will taste at the moment.
I would like to remind people to bring a bowl or plate with them and some form of eating utensil. Last year there was a serious shortage of eating apparatuses.

Looking at interest, I'd say 10 people, but you can cut and paste and say how many you can bring for. If people don't let us know they are coming. . . it's hard to plan for them!

I'm old-fashioned, I just copy the whole list and paste, amended.

Lots of limes-- extras for me:-)

but seriously, no one is signing up for food. I don't mind picking up the few left-over items, but all we have is oils and condiments! I can get pretty much anything on the list, but I thought I'd wait to see what was needed. I am limiting myself to W20,000 this year!

Yeah it doesn't look like there is enough interest to have a big group meal. Unless things change a lot in the next couple days I will plan on fending for myself as far as food is concerned.

I will still bring your limes though
