Gayasan, located in lovely downtown Gwangyang, has a ton of bolted routes.

I'd love to have people to explore the area with, so this is an open invitation:

I have no idea of the quality of the site, but if it sucks, Gurye's Yongseo Pokpo isn't far away, nor are the beaches of Yeosu or Namhae. My apartment is HUGE, there is a nice jimjilbang down the street, and a town this small would be a totally different experience for people who are used to living in a city. The fact that it is maybe a little difficult to get to via public transportation makes it that much more of an adventure. Or something like that

if i am not horribly mistaken, i think there might be a climbing festival in gwangyang very soon. i saw a poster at my gym. i will double check it tomoro.

could be fun to head down during the festival!

If anyone needs public transportation info for getting down here, let me know. I will be testing out a theory about a the Okgok train station this weekend.

Hey Jessica, that place looks quite the tempting little crag. I'm sure Kyung Ah and I would be in for a climb there, especially now as our Korean climbing buddy has just moved to Namhae...which isn't too far away. This weekend and next will be pretty busy for us, but how about the 2nd/3rd June? Maybe even the 26/27 May, though we are thinking of Jeju and/ or Solaksan that weekend. But yeah, looks and sounds sweet! Thanks for the post.

Yay! I'm excited that people are willing to come down!

I just registered for a 10k on Jeju the weekend of the 2nd/3rd today, but the weekend before or the weekend after would be great.
