Meet & Greet & Climb - 2006

Back by popular demand...

I've been contacted a few times lately about the next Meet & Greet so I wanted to get some ideas of when & where is good.

Jamie, from the Rocky Mountain Tavern, has volunteered his bar again though I think a meeting at the rock would be more appropriate. Thanks for the offer, Jamie!

So if you are interested in a Meet & Greet, please use this thread to suggest a date & place that is good for you.

My suggestion:
Seonunsan Park
March 11-12

Why Seonunsan?
Between soksal, munbawi and halmaebawi, there is climbing for all levels.
If it rains, we can still climb...
It's in the south, so warmer.
We can camp.
It's beautiful there.
It's my favorite place.

Why March 11-12?
Chances of good weather is high.
New teachers are "settled in" to the new semester.
Don't you guys like 311?

Anyway, if you are interested in the coming, please post your idea and suggestions.

And Uni teachers will be back for the Spring semester! Great time and date, and convenient for those of us in Jeollabuk-do. I can also probably open my doors (in Jeonju) Friday evening if people want to head down early . . . or worry that they won't find Sununsan.

Hope the weather cooperates so early in Spring, otherwise, more meeting and greeting and less climbing!

Sounds like a great time! I am going to see the family (in Europe) in Feb so March sounds great! I don't know where the location is but I will find it (with some help from you guys! ) I will watch the threads!!

Meet and greet at SeonunSan it is then. The 11th sounds groovy and it'd be a nice treat to put more names to faces. I can't remember if it's allowed to use burners/ cookers "in situ" at the crags there, anyone got some beta about this? Cheers to all, and hope to see you there.

i just realized today that i might have an MT on that day. i'll keep all posted but i won't know until early march...

although I think we're going to have to change the date...a meet and greet wouldn't be right without the man behind the curtain, the mastermind of KOTR, the heavyweight champion of the woooorrrrrllllld!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there! We have an MT on the 20th/21st of February, but that's peobably a little too early for Seonunsan anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem...so psyched to get down there and pull on some rock!

I don't have to go on MTs. . . never have. . . (well, I have witnessed several at Kan-hyon!) MT= extra free day for me (should I be lucky enough to have 1/2 my kids for any given class scheduled to go!)

I should be over my jet lag by the 11th, but I'm flexible if Eric has MT.
