Beginner Climber Looking to Improve and Meet Other Climbers

Hello everyone. I realize that there are a lot of these types of messages on this board already, and I thought one of my own might be a good place to start.

I am a beginner climber. I'd like to meet people to learn from and climb with.

I started climbing regularly in Seoul about 5 months ago. I climb two or three times a week at Son Jung Jun Sport Climbing Institute at Oksu Station in Seoul. The gym is nice and people are friendly, but I've never seen another foreigner there and most people speak very little English. It would be nice to climb with some people who I can learn from, who can give me feedback, and even just have a conversation!

My availability to climb is the evening during the week and any time on weekends. I live near the Gangnam area, so during the week my range of travel is kind of limited to central Seoul.

I've not met anyone in the expat climbing community yet, and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting to know some people!

Hi Dustin!

I wish I could be more helpful but I live in Ilsan and Ive been climbing at the Ilsan Climbing Center. There doesn't seem to be a big expat climbing community out here either. I know of two others who I climb with sometimes. If you're ever in Ilsan, let me know!

Hey Dustin. I hope you've had better luck recently. Maybe you should try going to a couple of other gyms around your area to see if the climbers there are any more easy to convese with.
