Moving to Busan for 2 years and wants to Climb from the off.....

Hey guys,

I move to Busan for 2 years on the 2nd August and am a keen climber. I'm going to be working at the International school so am gonna be there for a while. Are there any good indoor places in the city?? Also, is there much trad or is it mostly sport??? Either/or is good for me.

Sam, Busan is a mecca for gyms and has enough nearby crags top keep you busy for a long time!! Use the search function for nearby gyms (or tell us what part of town you're at at least!). You should be hooked up in no time!

Around Busan it's mostly sport (with a few trad and ridge routes in Geumjeongsan) but there is more trad just north in the Yeongsan Alps. . . and of course, with a flexible schedule you should head to Seoraksan and Donghae for even better trad!

Thats music to my ears! I think I'm going to be based around Hyundai?? Although not entirely sure yet. I'll definatelt bring out my sports rack in that case. How much would a 50-60 metre rope cost out there?? :S It seems your the encyclopaedia for Busan climbing eh... :P

Hey el_cap, Ive just moved to Busan recently as well. Im having trouble finding gyms open during the day, im and English teacher and my hours are mostly in the evenings. Do you know any gyms that have day time opening hours or do you know anyone who is up for some bouldering during the day in week. Im getting a bit frustrated with the lack of climbing ive been able to do and im itching to get going again! Id be also keen to do some bouldering on the weekends.

sorry i usually work during the day... but there is one gym between Hadan and Sasang which is open during the day for sure... But it quite hard to find. but if that is not tooo far from u I will send u the directions.

Hey everyone in this post. I just moved to Ulsan and am definitely looking to get outside on the weekends since I also teach english and work during the evenings. I have some sport climbing gear but am down to do any sort of climbing. Its been a month and am dying to go again
