KOTR is looking for a new owner. Are you a developer, a climber and have plans to stay in Korea for a while? If so, email me at [email protected]

The Great Ganhyeon Get-Together
So, perhaps Ganhyeon is seeing a lot of all of us these days, but why not? The weekend of October 1oth marks Kapo's last Ganhyeon sojourn before heading out for parts unknown. Open invite, come out for what will surely be a good time at the very least.

Hey, I'm not sure if I met you at Seununsan but I'm itching for a weekend of climbing. I'm Greg from Yeosu. Do you have more details about the weekend?
thanks,
~G

Easy. If you can get to Wonju, you can cab it to Ganhyeon. Bring a tent if you want to camp, if not there are minbaks, open to all. If you need more info, feel free to call, number on the profile.

OK I can confirm that we are all in from here. Kat, Connie, Diana, KA and I. The G is the place to be folks. Hell if someone wants to come up from Yeosu then what's your excuse not to be in it and on it? B, bring some dough and lets do the camp-bread. We'll no doubt have a dead pig and greens, maybe even a bottle o' wine? Not sure how to get there? Look at a map. It's just West of Wonju city. Trains to Ganhyeon run from Cheongryanni in Seoul, from Cheonan in Chungnam-do and from Kangneung in Kangwon-do. Buses to Wonju are another option and from there co-ordinate a taxi or ask JerrBear for the bus switch guide that gets you onto city bus 52 and out to the G.

Brandon and Terri made it from Yeosu to the first Kanhyon meet and greet, but it was a haul. There are regular busses to Gwangju from Yeosu, taking 1h50-2h10. From there busses are pretty frequent to Wonju, until 6:40, taking 4h30. So you're looking at 7 hours of travel, plus getting to Kanhyon. (They had a great time, and it was great to see them, but it was a haul!!) Depending on what kind of bus you take, from Gwangju to Wonju is W17,000-25,000 and to Gwangju W9-10,000.
