Climbing / Living questions for Busan

Daegu is certainly NOT flat! There is some great mt biking there in case you have another habit- like myself. There are many, many trails and many people to ride with.

yeah, I ride too, but I already accepted a position near PNU in Busan. I feel like it will suite me better, plus I may be able to take a class or two since I'll be so close to the university.

Hi...did you decide yet? What some other folks didn't mention is the climate! Busan is cooler/less humid in summer and less cold in the winter than Daegu! There are many other sports in Busan as well, such as surfing, windsurfing, and sailing (all of which cost money of course!) Busan has 5 beaches and 5 areas of nightlife that have venues with live bands almost every weekend. It is a bit more cosmopolitan than Daegu (but not as much as Seoul) meaning that western-style food and fusion Korean/western is easier to find as well as groceries for that comfort food we all crave now and then. With the KTX, most climbing areas in Korea are easy enough to reach. The farthest is Kanyeon, being about 4/5 hours away (and you might as well forget Seoraksan unless you have a long weekend). I think being by the sea is the best feature of Busan....we can hang out at the beach all year round. And we just started climbing at the sea cliffs at Amnan park....good stuff! (Can you tell that we need more climbers in Busan?)
