Gangwon Climbing Tournament - September 12th/13th

There will be a lead/speed climbing tournament at the Uiam Sports complex in Chuncheon next weekend. It's a brand spanking new wall, that was built for the Asian Climbing Championships, which were held last week and were awesome.

I don't know any of the times or details, yet, but when I do I'll let you all know.

lead/speed...hmmmm

So what does that mean...lead/speed climbing...who can clip fastest? Who can climb the wall fastest? Hell, why even clip...maybe it's just simply about getting to the top, fastest, clip the anchors and VOILA - WINNER. Come on Andy, provide a few entertaining details!

Well, being Korea, there's no health and safety laws, so they've combined speed climbing with lead climbing!

Sorry, that wasn't very clear. There will be lead climbing and speed climbing. Not the two combined, which would be more fun.

The speed climbers last week were doing a 15 metre 5.11b route in 7 seconds.

Right. It's only on Sunday 7:30 - 17:30. I think they're are looking for competitors, so turn up and you might get to show yourself up for the weaklings you truly are.
