Chuncheon 23rd-25th October

The local Chuncheon climbing club have developed a new crag, about 6km out of town. It's not on KOTR and I haven't even been there, yet. But I know where it is and I know its got somewhere between 20 and 30 routes with shiny new bolts. Ranging from 5.9-5.12b.

Dong-Il is coming up to Chuncheon this weekend to run the marathon on Sunday, so we are planning to check out this new crag on Saturday.

I know there's already a heap of other trips planned this weekend, but mainly down South. So, if you Northern monkeys are looking for something to climb, then this is for you. (Chuncheon is only an hour from Dong-Seoul bus terminal.)

Everybody can stay at mine, we can eat dakgalbi, then cheer Dong-il on to victory on Sunday.

I am down with heading that way this weekend. Have to check with work to see if I got the weekend off though, I will give you a definate yea or nay soon.

Don't think I'll be able to make it to do that cool thing, but I will be climbing here Saturday and Sunday. There's also a new 7 pitch multi-pitch route (5.9-5.10c) at this crag, that I'd like to check out on one of the days.

Andy, you'll pleased to know that you'll be seeing me this weekend. I think a decent group of us are going to go to the cool thing today and then join you (possibly tonight??) for some climbing in the morning on shiny new bolts. Will call you later. If you know what I mean.

Yeah. That one fingered, overhanging, crimp dyno you pulled off over the death fall was pretty amazing.

Thanks for cheering me up! Andy and Mack you guys made me get the 30 milion won winning prize in Chuncheon Marathon and get on one of those 12b.. at new crag. Running full marathon on Sun after that amazing climbing was pretty hard but you guys chinned me up for grabbing the winning prize and I traded in with a gold medal, Thanks million!!! Keep that medal till next year, I'll add one more for you.

I'm brand new to this forum and don't have any real experience with climbing - I hike constantly but don't use any equipment.

Did you mention there is a hiking group in Chuncheon? I've lived here for a while but couldn't find any info about that as I'd love to join.

Can you give me any more details?

Dong-il, what's this. . . 30 million won, gold medal?! what the heck did you do? was it a full marathon? what was your time? 12b! dang! wow. WOW.
