Two KOTR members meet

Check out the 2006 Photoblog. Ricky and her boyfriend Costa wanted to check out Dae Ryuk Bong. So, she called me and we met. Kind of a mini meet-and-greet for a couple of hours. The conditions were terrible, as the rock was pretty wet from the enormous rain storm the day before. But, just in case, I brought my stuff. Sure enough, we found a "sort of" dry route that was sendable. It was great to finally meet someone from the KOTR family. I hope I got Ricky hooked on Busan. For someone like me who has been in Korea for 6 years during my 20 year military career, I surely love it. It was great because Ricky is Canadian, Costa is Australian and I'm American......all on Korea! Dae Ryuk Bong is a nice place to have some fun and on this outing, we WERE THE ONLY ONES there! I guess the Koreans didn't want to climb after such a rainstorm. Even though it was only an hour or two, it was great. I learned that Ricky is one of the most technical climbers I've ever met. Stupid me, I F-uped on the Grigri rope placement. Before she sended the route, she checked me first to make sure all was right. Wow, was I embarrrresssssed!!!!!! I was so flustered that I couldn't even do my figure eight. Anyway, to let you all know, the grigri worked fine and I love it. But, I need more practice. Come to Busan.......please!!! Take care and God Bless!
