Welcome to Korea and Korea On The Rocks Kanzianiberg!

Where are you living now? What kind of climbing are you interested in? sport or trad?

To check some upcoming trips check out the category Upcoming Trips in the forums. People are planning trips for almost every weekend.

Look forward to seeing you on the rock!
eric

Hi Eric!

Thanks for the quick reply. Right now I am staying in Kangnam-gu Seoul but this saturday I plan to move to Chong-ju since I have to work on a Project there.
Trad climbing might be a bit difficult for me since I was not able to take all my gear with me (I did take my paraglider with me and that pushed the max weight to the limit) so sport climbing would work out better.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Kanzianiberg,

Is that Chong-Ju near Daejeon? (There are so many places with names like Cheongju, junju, jeonju, Chungju, etc...) I ask because I am living in Daejeon as well and if its the same Chongju, it's only 40 minutes away.

As far as climbing goes, if you want to climb the limited trad that's available, it's best to just find someone with gear. Otherwise most everything is bolted.

Can't help with the paragliding.
Later
eric

Eric,
the Cheongju or Chngju that I move to on saturday is about 2 hours drive south of Seoul so I think it is the one close to Daejon or Taejn.
Bolted is excellent, I would like to stay in shap an so I can climb closer to my limits.
I would love to check out some rocks on sunday, if you are planning to be out there, do you mind if I join you?
Concerning the paragliding, there is a "flying park" near MunGyeong (a small village or town east of Daejon.
See you

Hey Kanzianiberg welcome. Like Eric already said there is plenty of sport. I have a rack but no wheels and I am limtied to Sunday climbing for the most part. No wheels means I have to plan trips and hope the weather doesn't interfere. Did you do any climbing near Pflatz or Elbe? Check the upcoming trips I am always trying to dig something up for the weekend. Peace. I am in Daegu

Hi Antepater,
most of my time in Germany I spent in Dresden and went to the Elbsandstein nearly every weekend. With about 15,000 different ascentrouts that realy does not get boringf and the trad climbing there is just amazing. A few weeks ago I spent a vacation in France near Orgon and Boux, fantastic rocks, reminds my of the ones at home in Austria. I am looking forward to touch some asian rock.

Hey Eric,
looks like the board is really taking off up to 75. That's impressive. Welcome all of you to R.O.K. and enjoy your experience. Peace.
