Climbing partner(s)?

Hi,
My name is June. I am from Southern California where I was lucky to have climbed at most iconic places, (Yosemite, Joshua Tree, etc). I am visiting relatives for over a month and a half and looking to find a climber or a group of climbers who are willing to show, share gear & places and the community. I’m in Incheon near (Gwang yuk si)but Willing and can travel. I have my personal gear only—couldn’t fit them in.
I speak both Korean and English and an awesome belayer!
Hope to hear from you.

Thumbs up

Hi June,
I'm in Seoul for the next month or so, and would love to get out. I'm figuring out my schedule and could probably only do some weekdays. I've got a 70m rope, single rack, draws etc. I usually go for moderate multi-pitch trad, but am down for whatever. Sadly, I speak almost no Korean , but if you want a partner, lmk! I usually climb in Southern Arizona and the North Cascades, but have spent some time in J-Tree and Tuolumne also.

Hey Josh,
I went to Insubong a wk ago on Sunday for the first time and I’d prefer to go on wkdays. I think there were over 100ppl! Do you know the area well? We got off routed and ended up on a 10b slab. I would like to go back and do some moderate multi pitch. I’m open to other areas as well if you want.
I am currently traveling southern part of S. Korea. I won’t be back in town until the 25th...

June, Josh,
Is either of you likely to be around Fri 16 & Sat 17 November? I have an upcoming work trip which keeps getting deferred (& have posted up here trying to line up a partner in the past) & would be keen to get out Fri p.m. & all Sat, weather permitting.
Damian

Hi guys,
I am going to be in Seoul from the 01 Oct until about the 12-13th Oct and keen to get out climbing. I am visiting family and coming from NZ so won't have space for a rope or draws/rack, can only fit shoes and harness. I am also very keen on bouldering! I would love to see some of the outdoor rock in Korea, however also it would be cool even just to just meet people and go indoors. i climb about 7a-7b and do a bit of everything, from sport cragging to alpine mixed and ice climbing.

I am also wanting to check out the indoor ice walls (i have squeezed boots/crampons etc in somehow) so if you go already sometimes or even just interested to try it out i would love the company.

In Seoul 10/9-10/11

Hi June,
I will be in Seoul next week and available to hike/climb/boulder between 10/9-10/11. Unfortunately, I won't have a rope or pro either. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up!

@Joe,
Most partners I was lucky enough to climb with work during wkdays although the 9th is a National holiday so you might be lucky to find a partner however, if you weren’t lucky to find some to climb with, and you still want to get out and enjoy outdoors, there’s a meetup called “climbers in Korea” (CIK). We are planning to hike daedun mountain and walk the famous suspension bridge on the 9th. Autumn foliage supposed to be beautiful this time of the yr. So you can join the group and make some friends and possibly climbers even.

Hi all, I will be arriving in Seoul this Saturday with availability to climb Sunday (Oct 13), Tuesday (Oct 15), Saturday (Oct 20), and Sunday (Oct 21). I will bring my double trad rack (with triples of some cams), nuts, draws, and a 60m rope. I would like to climb Insu Bong, but happy for any outdoor rock climbing. Seoraksan National Park looks great, but I'm not sure about logistics on how to get there.

Happy to lead moderate trad (5.8-5.11) and try some harder trad or sport lines into 5.11+/5.12 depending on how stiff the ratings turn out to be.

Let me know if anyone is keen to link up. Thanks! Scott
