Going to Europe. want to climb. need friends

Hey! I'm going to Europe and without much of a plan. I haven't even booked my tickets yet All I know for sure is that I need to be in Madrid for September 13th. I'm planning to fly out of Korea around the 25th of August. I'm hoping to get a couple weeks of climbing in before I meet up with my ugh...this guy...that ugh....my friend, no! special friend.... Well anyway.I need to find someone to hang out with, maybe in Spain. Some connections to get me started. Help!! Please!!! I'm scared to go alone. Then I'll be in Europe for a few months and free from October 2nd until the beginning of December.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of Chris in Portugal?
Anyone wanna come?

Hey Ricky. . .

Any plans where you want to go in Spain. There's excellent climbing in northern Basque country (hard!!) the south (El Chorro, Granada. . .) and the island of Mallorca. Actually, I have a friend from the USA who's building (finished?) a house in the South. . . not sure when his family will be back in the USA, but probably in Sept as their kid is in school (but dang his Spanish will be good!).

I know there's climbing near Madrid, but not sure of the quality, etc. At anyrate, as KOTR is testament to, you can try to meet locals and travellers online-- Facebook groups, 9b. . . I've had good luck in Europe just showing up, and when I've travelled solo to places where I don't have friends and family, couchsurfing has been a good way to meet people and extend the budget. You might bring a few "gifts" from Korea for people you meet.

I should be in Europe by late Sept, early October. . . how long are you planning to be on the continent?
"If you can't do something well, you might as well learn to enjoy doing it poorly." -- from a de-motivational poster, but I find it oddly liberating!

Becky and I will be in Rheinland Pfaltz in Germany as of 29 August. There's loads of climbing in Southern Germany. Loads. See you there!
Calmer than you are...
