Info on Namhansanseong climbing?

Does anyone have any info on climbing at Namhansanseong (Southern Mountain Fortress, Seoul)? I have heard that there is supposed to be some good sport climbing there, but can't seem to find any good information about it!!!

Help if you can!

Thanks,

Kris

good question

I've looked for it. . . I've recieved calls from others looking for it. . . I think maybe Dee climbed there (maybe not?). . . it's in the book.

The fortress and surrounding park covers a lot of area. The climbing is on Geomdansan on a rock called Beomgulam. 18 routes (from 2002) 5.8 to 13c. The highest is 25 meters and the most bolts on a route is 9.

If you find it. . . please take a GIS reading and/or lots of photos, count your steps, etc!! It might be easier to see when fall has removed some foliage? I swear, we spent all day covering what seemed like the whole area. . . found lots of rocks that were "not it".

Ahh... Korean Friends

Hopefully we will have directions, pictures, etc. after this weekend. Supposedly, there are at least 2 areas, a sport area and a bouldering one. I am supposed to meet up with a guy from my gym tomorrow night (he told me the directions were to difficult to give over the phone). We hope to climb there sat!

The 'Nam rocks! It's a really fun, quality little crag in a beautiful location. But...directions are a little hard to give, especially as i don't know them. i just tag along with my mates and sleep in the car or chat mindlessly until we arrive at the parking lot. However, if you want to meet up and climb there sometime, we could arrange to meet and i could coax/cajole/threaten my lovely friend into driving and maybe even pay enough attention so that i (or someone else ) could eventually post the crag on this site. PM me!

Cheers!
Dee

Found!!!

My wife and I found the climbing at Namhansanseong this weekend. Some Korean friends from Seongnam took us there on Saturday. It was really nice!!! The approach is up a hill through some traditional Korean graveyards! More info and directions coming soon...
