Transportation to Daeryukbong is pretty easy but all the other things you mentioned are big drawbacks. Also, it's not a very big climbing area as far as the number of routes and places to hang out without getting in the way.

was at Sunanson 3 weeks ago, at the end of Feb. Everything seemed cool to me. Camped out by the hostel one night. no construction, then camped at the crag, just under "zoo" the next night. Seemed like a fine spot for a meet and greet. What weekend would this be anyway. There's four of us here in Sokcho, who would be keen. By the way Greg and Jen are back in town for the next two weeks, so they may be up for something as well, Just trying to sort thru all of the wine replies to try and find the dates. Cheers

OK, so back to location.

I have between 2 and 4 friends who ae either new to climbing or new to climbing in Korea and definately wan to get out and climb. I'm not sure I can convince them of the 4-5 hour bus ride to Seonusan though. But if someone could give us a ride from Daegu (or elsewhere) I think we could settle on Seonusan, since it does have great facilities to host us all.

Anyone is welcome in Busan anytime. Just mae sure to PM me since I don't check the forums very often.

Let's NOT do somewhere that's diametrically opposite Yeosu this time, eh?

(Good to be back, kids -- now let's climb!)

I went rock-climbing this weekend with my climbing gym and the owner told me about a place in Pohang that has lots of camping at the cragg and running water and even a little swimming hole. I haven't checked it out yet, will do this weekend if people are interested in Pohang. I think its pretty central and easy to get to. Whaddya think?

There are 45 routes, plenty of moderates (several 5.7s, 8s 9s. . . and a 5.13 if B-team comes). . . if someone in the area might check on public transport?! (Where's Hulk of Pohang these days?!)

Pohang sounds fun! Convenient for folks on the E coast, and a train from East Daegu (that can be linked to other trains). . .
