And so Mountain Day and our seminar have come and gone for another year. It was a smaller crowd than last year, but it was still a wonderful crowd and a great atmosphere. There were delegates representing UNESCO and various embassies, more than last year. Thanks to the KOTRers who came by. It was great to see/meet everyone. Congrats to Gabe on winning one of the door prizes (Master Jo Ja-jong's classic but now out of print Korea Tigers, I believe) and to Helen for winning the big prize: a complete membership to the Snow Leopard Trust.
The seminar did excellent to help spread the word of mountain conservation via education, proper use, and culture. The presentations were great, and we had a stellar panel (though with a broken wing due to Jake not being able to make it in the end).
Thanks to all those who donated to the KMPL. It was a shock at the end when we counted the donations and discovered that the KMPL graciously and humbly received nearly 600,000 won to help with its work and prospects for the coming year: infield, education, programs, seminars, and so on.
This will really help with the independant film we're planning on making.
Again, thanks to everyone who came and showed support for the KMPL and far more importantly the mountains.
Be well and tread lightly.
