Flying with a crash pad

I have talked with a couple of people who did this with no problems, but the airlines are getting so money-hungry and I really don't want to get to the airport only to be charged a fortune!

I am booked with Delta, which allows 2 pieces of checked baggage, but the fine print says they'll charge $180 for oversized "bags" to Asia. . . this would make it not really worth it.

Anyone recently flown Delta with a crash pad?

...Hanging out in the Foyer at Calcutta airport with the nepali' families returning from vacation made me realize that a crash pad is pretty insignificant.

So no worries. Just work your lady-like charm on the check in staff, sorted.
