I'm going back to Ottawa (Canada) for a month in August. I'd like to pick up some climbing holds for my gym.
I was wondering if any one had any advice as to what brand of holds I should purchase, what models, ect...

We mostly need slopers or modulars. I don't want to spend more than 150$ but I'd like to come back with as many good holds as possible for that price.

Of course I'm also limited by weight. I guess 10KG should be adequate.

I know there will be very few products available in Canada, so I will probably have to order from the US. Or maybe e-bay. Is that a bad idea.

Okay. Thaks in advance.

Ricky mate why don't you have a look at the nicros store (www.nicros.com)? It's often got a few really good package deals on holds and I think they are considered pretty good. I dunno if they do shipping outside of the US but maybe do.

as far as the nicros go, the gym i climb at in DC has a bunch of the Spped HDFs and the Sloper HMLs, you can get pretty inventive with those, i think they are pretty versatile.

I did a little more research. It seems Synrock, Nicros, Pusher, Metolius, and Voodoo are some of the top brands according to user feedback. I'm thinking of getting of few Synrock holds, because I'm so curious to see what the hype is about. I might pick up a mega pack of Metolius holds. 30 holds for 90$; Canadian that is. I'll just go through the set and pick out the jugs and take the holds I really want back with me. I'll check the Nicros site again though. Thanks.

You must be checking out some pretty old literature. pusher isn't even around anymore. keep in mind that the series or set of holds is probably more important than the actual manufacturer.
