i just got to uijongbu at the beginning of october , and i'm looking for something different this winter . i have ice tools , crampons , boots , and all the little things , except for ice screws .
if anybody doesn't mind giving some lessons , i'd sure appreciate it

hey, i used to do a lot of ice climbing, and a bit of instruction, back in the real world, but i haven't brought my stuff over with me.

i just spent the morning watching a horrible Arirang documentary on ice climbing in korea, and i really want to do some. the only problem is my lack of gear. though i seriously doubt it, if there is a place to rent, i would love to get out and up to Soraksan this winter.

Hey, I've done some ice off and on in the past and am also interested in getting out this winter. I'm in the Pyongtaek area. I've got enough gear, etc and actually have an extra set of tools if you don't mind straight shafts and a second set of cramps. What size boot do you take? Mike

When does the ice season start in Korea ? I'll be there late February, do you think I'd be able to tag along on a trip or two ? I have no ice gear or experience but I'm very keen to learn.

cheers

I'm gonna try and get some of my gear brought over by a friend who is going home for christmas.
We'll see what he can manage in his bag, but let's find out exactly where the good routes are. I was up in Soraksan park last winter and saw some stuff... there is also an annual ice climbing festival sometime in January.
it gets pretty wintery up there

maybe we could plan a trip for Sollal???
