E, I'm bringing the Thai curry stuff, and the rest of the stuff for MyThais (a variation of MaiTais) and a few surprises. . . I'll reimburse for alcohol (light/dark rum and tequilla, lime. . .), but it's soooo much cheaper on base. Espresso fixins = coffee, milk. Also, as I don't have a car as of now, I figure I can buy veggies and juice closer to the site.
It just makes sense that people with cars, who know where to get these things and can get them cheaper, do so. Rather than have people bring tomatoes from Daegu and mushrooms from Incheon, these things can probably be bought locally and people can chip in. Likewise, many items on the list are much cheaper and easier to get on base. Extra money is so much easier to bring, and the most important thing is that people don't feel obligated-- bring yourself, first and foremost. We want to meet you! No one goes hungry (or sober, unless you want to) at these things.
Does anyone have a musical instrument? Mary, guitar?
80 tortillas :eek8: Last time I took a bag home and we had a big turnout!
I guess when we decide a place we can get a show of hands who's coming Fri night.
I'll supply heaps of onions and green peppers. By the way, I'm coming. Stoked, in fact! (Where are we going?)
I could also bring a guitar, though I havent exactly figured out how to play it (yet).

Hey,
I know I'm new but I'm about 95% sure I'll be there. I am SO tired of concrete. I won't commit to any food until I'm 100%, but I could be good for a pasta dish of some sort.
Les - bring your guitar and give me the names of a couple songs you want to learn. I'm no Clapton but I might be able to help a little.
Cheers.

i'll bring walnuts, banana's, syrup, and pancake mix (tripled up this time). i know someone at the last M&G was allergic to something in the mix...if you let me know what that was i can look for other options.
commisary people; let's divy up liquor purchases when the date approaches.

This is the lady (I really need to get my own account on here)... Would it be possible to pre-order a couple pancakes minus walnuts, or is the pancake mix being premade?
OH.... something was said about limes.... WHERE CAN YOU GET LIMES???!!! We can't find them anywhere! (We don't currently have friends on base)
ricardo

absolutely CH14K (...sounds like a molecule). pancakes are made to order! with that in mind i'll try to bring some berries as another option.
our produce is pretty sketchy but if they look good i'll bring some limes too...not for the pancakes though...unless you're into that...

I do feel we need to drink responsibly. . . with a mind to climbing the next day (and the next). . . but I encourage people to bring the beer/gifts as a token of appreciation. . .

Kyung Ah will also be bringing along her 유부초밥, and I might do a batch of the vegie-nut burgers again. Also I'll try and bring a collapsible table so we don't have to comandeer the bonnet of some Korean guys 4WD again.

Eric, might you set up a poll for who's coming. Let people "commit" to
A: I'll be there Fri-Sun
B: I'll be there Sat-Sun
C: I'll be there Sat
D: I'll be there Sun

It'd be nice to get a head count. . .

I have 6 cans of Kidney beans that I can bring for the Burritos. I know that it is not on the list, but I was thinking about picking up some gwakamolie this week to bring as well.
I there anything else that still needs to be picked up??
Is there a mart or something to pick up beer and what not around the camp site??

Ok all......
For any of you vetran residents, any ideas where I can find hummus? I didn't think it would be this difficult. Any success making hummus without a food processor?
Sonia, where might I find parafin? If I can find it, I'll bring some for you.

Guacamole would be great! I put you on the list for that and some kidney beans.
There are a few small stores near the campground. You should be able to get beers there. I'd consider buying them in the morning because they may close earlier than stores in the city.

plates and napkins might not be such a bad idea.

What are you guys doing for dinner? Are you cooking at Seonunsan or eating out somewhere?
Also, I can bring a large plastic mixing bowl for pancake batter if it is needed.

I still plan to make a Thai curry and supplement it with Thai intoxicants (such as MaiTai's Singha's Changs a bucket . . . ) my expenses won't permit more than that (if folks brought rice noodles, bean-sprouts, scallions, soy sauce, basil, peanuts, lime. . . I'd whip up a pad thai. . .) So how many for curry?
In the past we've always had fires. . . guess it depends what "they" tell us.
I plan to "play with fire". . . though I am low on fuel. . . I've found parafin near Insadong, but it's not much notice. I can bring an extra set of fire twirlers/poi if anyone is interested. . . anyone got drums?!
I'm bringing about 6 extra bowls, a corkscrew, mess kit plus large wok-like pan, can-opener, mitt, shaker, knives cutting board. I prefer my things (esp pans) not be used for meat. I have my old trusty camp stove, an extra 2 tin cups (one not suitable for hot drinks) I'll bring my espresso maker (I think that's 3 now!!) and milk frother.

Also, if you have any suggestions for the missing meals, I'll add them to the list. Or we can just plan for Saturday night and Sunday morning.
I think maybe we should plan something for lunch on Saturday or Sunday or both. I know a lot of people will be coming without stove/burner... unless there are restaurants around? Or someone can bring a bunch of ramyun and whenver someone gets hungry for lunch they can make themselves some. I dunno. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for lunch on both days.
We'll be arriving late on Friday night (early, very early Saturday morn.)
