im coming to Seoul for a long weekend from 1st to 5th March (renewing Japanese visa), and was wondering what the climbing options might be at this time? Is it possible to climb outdoors somewhere near seoul, or is it still too cold/wet/snowy?

Im traveling solo, and so would be looking for any climbing partners. Ii would happily go bouldering (moderate level), or doing routes up to 5.11's, or go crank in a decent gym if anyone was willing to partner up. Not sure where i will be staying yet, somewhere cheap in Seoul.

cheers.

The weather has been pretty warm lately and I guess Insubong would be a goer...you'd need to bring a trad rack for that...it's slab and crack mostly, but great views and lovely rock. Bouldering in same area too. Hike in is about an hour, check out the details on the rock climbing area link. I will be busy on a Uni MT that weekend but there are kindly and keen Seoul KOTRers who might be up for it. They might give you some beta on cheap places to stay. Goodluck, and best wishes.

I might be up for some bouldering at Insubong on that saturday or sunday. No gear in tow for the big wall, but i have beta on the bouldering area. Some definite good stuff, and a nice hike.
