Hey ya'll.
i'm new to korea, living in hongseong, doing the whole teaching english bit. i'm hoping to get some climbing in while i'm here. the weekend trip in october sounds like an option...
any words of advice?
Hey oread, welcome to korea and korea on the rocks!
It would be great if you could join us on our trip to seonunsan October 15 - 17. If you need help getting there, i can help.
Advice? Keep an eye on this forum cause there are folks making plans nearly every weekend. If you really want to climb a lot and you are planning on being here longer than a year or so, a car might be a good investment. They are cheap and make getting to the crag a lot easier.
Hope to meet you in October!

though getting a car is tempting (public trans makes getting places twice as long), the idea of driving in this country freaks me out. there seems to be no driving laws in korea. i'm convinced this is where the bad asian drivers come from. plus i'd like to try to save some money while i'm here. i'll figure it out (in regards to oct). i looked at a map, so i know where the park is. but i may need a ride from the train or bus station to the park...

HI Oread,
Yeah I said the same thing about getting a car other than the fear of diving, I've seen worse. But I have managed to save a bit of money and the car would have been a nice thing to have durin the last 10 months. As far a ride is concererned keep an eye on the Trips forum and the Otobober 15th posting, there will be phone numbers and co-ordination details listed for that trip. Be great to have another climber around peace.
