great to spend a December weekend with such amazing people-- 3 of us with a "New Orleans" connection, travellers, climbers, 3 Jeolla girls who might have decended into a bitch-fest if not for Ivan of Osan. . .

We actually did get some outdoor climbing in (the sun peaked out a bit). . .

Anyway, great to be out and great company. . . OH and YEAH!! I finally got to try one of those Korean evacuation systems!! I think I have a new hobby!! Actually, I think I want to buy them/import them to the US!

Unfortunately, Ricky's building person didn't like the idea so much, so in the future, I will limit my escapades to hotels I can afford to get kicked out of or places where I have permission.

A awsome time all around. My only regret is I didn't get to try out the handy evacuation rig before the landlord got wise to it. Don't get me wrong, we could have done some more of it, but then Ricky would be looking for a new appartment now... :) Thanks again for inviting me down guys, and for the rockin' hot chocolate...

You're in luck, Ivan! Besides the fact that 완강기s are everywhere in this country (literally there are thousands of places we can still get kicked out of!), they're also for sale (various makes and models-- about W35,000 for the basic 3 story set, W8,000 more if you want the arm). . . got one for my brother and his family (housewarming gift), but also perfect if you build a tree house! Er, how many floors up are you now?! Do you have an evacuation plan?!

Nice, I am on the third story now. Just have to set a anchor in the wall and I should be all set. Wonder if they will mind... : )

WOAH!!!! I just saw Sonia's pic descending that sic route!! I've often thought about that (mostly when drinking margaritas with Sonia) but have always been to chicken $#it to make the attempt. right on!!
i'm curious...did you have any control on the descent or what is like an auto-belay?
I may need your couragious services to get access to my roof for my party in late Jan (post coming soon).
