Like many KOTRers I guess, I've oft times barely glanced at that little KML (Korean Mountaineering League ) Link that hangs almost invisibly at the bottom of the home page. Well I checked it out today, and I feel ashamed for not doing so before.
Please guys (and girls) at least do this one small thing if you truly love your mountains. Go there and sign the petition which is being set up to try and sway Govt and Business honcho's into being more responsible about Koreas mountain ecology. It takes only a few minutes if that. Costs nothing and even if you have but little optimism in the success of it's aims, remember what Peter Garrett (Head of Australian Conservation Foundation, lead singer Midnight Oil and now member of Parliament as Green Independent) said:
"For the things you believe in, you don't give up!"
Thanks for listening top my ravings. Maybe we could get a few KOTR members to one of the clean-up days the KML organizes?:rolleyes8
Be clean.

OK So I didn't write this and I'm sure we all already know it, but as tomorrow (Dec 11th actually IS U.N. International Mountain Day, let's take 5 and re-read and rethink the minimal impact code. I copied this from the Korean Mountaineering League (KML) web-page. They are a sister organization to KORE, and share some members. Here's the code, just look for trhe link on the left hand directory:
http://www.kmleague.org/
Thanks also to all of you who do practice this code. Winter snows will hide some trash, but it won't solve any problems. So if you can, pick up any trash you see and pack it out, even if it isn't yours.
All the best, and thanks,
Jake.
