I'm stationed at Camp Humphreys, about 20 minutes from Osan, and am looking for a partner(s). What's your background and what are your interests? Mike

Hi I'm going to be station in Kunsan AB in January and am intrested in trying rock climbing. Let me know if you guys are intrested in taking on a beginner as a partnet.

I am still a newbie. But I am more of a Trad and solo climber. I've never had any real teaching or anything just got into climbing as an adventurous kid. Saved up money bought ropes and bolts and stuff and just climbed.
Kqaw I am more than interested in taking in some one to teach what little i know.

Welcome to the site, everyone!

Here is a link (http://www.koreaontherocks.com/search.php?type=1&area_province=1) to some of the climbs in and around Seoul. There is a ton of climbing, especially trad climbing, near where you guys are.

Some places not mentioned in that link are Dobongsan and Ulsan Bawi. Don't forget Gangwon-Do (http://www.koreaontherocks.com/search.php?type=1&area_name=&area_city=&area_province=2&area_rating=&area_style=). It's not to far from Seoul and lots of sport and mixed climbing.

Are you in Korea now? I'd like to try and get out this fall as the weather becomes more comfortable, the humidity is worse than N Carolina! My focus tends towards a safe attitude above all else, always preferring to return another day if that's what's called for. I enjoy climbing at any level I'm capable of, which isn't terribly high if your chasing numbers but I can certainly belay and jug a line. I've taught climbing in the past in Washington, Colorado and Alaska. I also work as a photographer and am interested in shooting climbing, the Korean countyrside & culture, etc. Let me know if this interests you and if you'd like to meet sometime for an outing, possibly in Seoul? I'm not sure where your located at. Thanx, Mike

Tomas, Thanx for the reply. I'll be in China over the Labor Day weekend but after that I'd be interested in getting together and doing something. sounds like the Seoul area is the most accessible and would offer alternatives should the weather go sour. I'm pretty much off every weekend. Where are you located? Mike

Hey there,

Just thought you might like to know that there is an indoor bouldering gym in Osan. It's pretty small, but the people there are nice, although I don't think any of them really speak english. It might be worth checking out when you're itching to climb, especially during those cold winter days!

Cheers,
Heidi
