Just another one of those Korean moments. . . .So after my exams today I decide to scope out these crags close to my house that I've been meaning to get to before the film fest. . . they seem a bit complicated to get to, but I have maps-- plenty of maps. . . so I head out on the bus. . . and we pass the Korean Forest Association building so I jump out the bus and go inside-- to see if they have any maps or information . . . and to maybe see what the Korean Forest Association does. Well, they sit around computer terminals in their red uniforms with ranger badges . . . apparently they also produce bruchures for campaigns. Anyway, they saw me and they sent out their best English speaker, Lee Hui-jeong, and Commisioner Han Pyeong-seon sent us with driver, Kim Jun-chul, to check out the climbs! They were loving finding the rocks and the bolts and were really helpful. Anything to get out of the office and drive around on such a beautiful day-- Mr. Lee knew the names of all of the trees and flowers, just not in English. Afterwards we drank green tea and posed for photos by the office (with everyone)!
Is that not serendipity?. . . to just catch that sign, jump off the bus, and those guys are working today. . . and I have connections at the Korea Forest Association now, if I have any questions. . . or need any rides!
