View Full Version : Meet & Greet & Climb - 2006

Back by popular demand...

I've been contacted a few times lately about the next Meet & Greet so I wanted to get some ideas of when & where is good.

Jamie, from the Rocky Mountain Tavern (http://www.rockymountaintavern.com/), has volunteered his bar again though I think a meeting at the rock would be more appropriate. Thanks for the offer, Jamie! :)

So if you are interested in a Meet & Greet, please use this thread to suggest a date & place that is good for you.

My suggestion:
Seonunsan Park (http://www.koreaontherocks.com/climbing/areas.php?area_park=36)
March 11-12

Why Seonunsan?
Between soksal, munbawi and halmaebawi, there is climbing for all levels.
If it rains, we can still climb...
It's in the south, so warmer.
We can camp.
It's beautiful there.
It's my favorite place. :)

Why March 11-12?
Chances of good weather is high.
New teachers are "settled in" to the new semester.
Don't you guys like 311?

Anyway, if you are interested in the coming, please post your idea and suggestions.

And Uni teachers will be back for the Spring semester! Great time and date, and convenient for those of us in Jeollabuk-do. I can also probably open my doors (in Jeonju) Friday evening if people want to head down early . . . or worry that they won't find Sununsan.

Hope the weather cooperates so early in Spring, otherwise, more meeting and greeting and less climbing!

Sounds like a great time! I am going to see the family (in Europe) in Feb so March sounds great! I don't know where the location is but I will find it (with some help from you guys! :becky: ) I will watch the threads!!

Meet and greet at SeonunSan it is then. The 11th sounds groovy and it'd be a nice treat to put more names to faces. I can't remember if it's allowed to use burners/ cookers "in situ" at the crags there, anyone got some beta about this? Cheers to all, and hope to see you there.

i just realized today that i might have an MT on that day. i'll keep all posted but i won't know until early march... :(:(:(

ricardo
01-22-2006, 10:37 AM
the RMT would be a lot of fun, but we can always take the bar to Sununsan! :bigdrink:
although I think we're going to have to change the date...a meet and greet wouldn't be right without the man behind the curtain, the mastermind of KOTR, the heavyweight champion of the woooorrrrrllllld!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric
01-22-2006, 10:58 AM
i'll get my MT date figured out ASAP.

sonia (and other uni teachers), do you guys/gals have MT's? if so, when?

climbergrrl
01-22-2006, 11:10 AM
Hey there! We have an MT on the 20th/21st of February, but that's peobably a little too early for Seonunsan anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem...so psyched to get down there and pull on some rock!

I don't have to go on MTs. . . never have. . . (well, I have witnessed several at Kan-hyon!) MT= extra free day for me (should I be lucky enough to have 1/2 my kids for any given class scheduled to go!)

I should be over my jet lag by the 11th, but I'm flexible if Eric has MT.

Eric

i am soooo stupid. (really too much time staring at the screen.) you reminded me that my MT's fall on a th/fr, not on the weekend.

Im back in for sure for the 11th! :thumb:

OK, so it looks like March 11-12 at Seonunsan! Yeah! :becky:

When are people heading there?
Where are we sleeping/camping?

I will have a few seats in my car coming from daejeon if anyone is interested though i havent decided if i'll leave fri night or sat morning.

I am going to email all KOTR members about the M&G (just so everyone knows about it) after the sleeping plans are made.

I'll also have a few spare seats in my car heading from Daejeon to SeonUn San for the M&G on March 11th, so pm me if you need or want a lift. I'll probably head up Fri night, but nothing is fixed at this stage. Sat would be cool too.

ricardo
02-21-2006, 07:56 PM
can anyone take friday off? i'd like to head down early to get some climbing in friday too, but if no one else can go early i'll head down friday evening.
have room in my car for those between kunsan and seonunsan...that includes you iksan folks. i hope to see some of my climbing neighbors there!!

Rick,

I've "practically been guaranteed" Fridays off this semester-- for what that's worth! I'll know for sure by Mar 2-3 after I get back. I'd be into checking out the new road trip machine. . . you know where I live!

There is some discussion as to where we should stay. . .

A: campground near the entrance by the youth hostel. Plenty of space, near the hostel, minbaks, hotels, any number of accomodations. Easy access by car or bus. Campsites can be left up overnight. Usually they let you back in the park on the previous day's pass-- at worse, it's an extra W2800 (supports the park)

B: by the minbak/store across the bridge. Campsites need to be taken down each day (tents, etc can be stored by the store). Inside the park, but gates not always open to cars, limited parking and a further haul for folks without cars to bring camping equipment.

C: by the res. . . scenic, inside the park and closest to climbing, but sites must be taken down (and stashed/carried), driving is limited (usually not permitted past the little store), with no accomodations for folks without tents.

OK, please feel free to add plans D, E, F or post your opinions as to these ideas (or any additional notes, etc I may have neglected). I'm for plan A (which is why I called it A), but I'm always flexible and open-minded :)

Also, I have a one-person tent I will bring-- if I bunk w/Rick or someone else, I can still bring it as a spare (just picked up seam sealer so it should be water-tight; it did weell w/o over 3 rainy days at Kan-hyon). . . accomodations might be an important consideration as I wouldn't want folks without tents to feel excluded. Might also note that cheap camping gear is available in Korea-- Namdaemun and Tongdaemun are great places to start your search.

Eric
02-23-2006, 07:27 AM
A sounds good to me, too.

ricardo
02-23-2006, 04:29 PM
"A" would be good for those heading to Halmei Bawi too. Also, we can carpool up to the crags.
More lodging options: I have a two person tent, two can fit in the back of my truck ("cozy" fit), and I may end up using my bivy.

what are the food options nearby? should we go potluck style? anyone want banana walnut pancakes and (brewed) coffee for breakfast?
(Jack Johnson has made me crave banana pancakes lately!)

there are some restaurants near the campgroud but im into cooking at the campground. im into galbi or something like that but i know there might be at least a few vegetarians so i open to anything.

OK, Rick's Diner for breakfast. Rick, if you (or Shanja or Eric, but I like the Fri idea) can get me, I'll break out the car-camping espresso maker and milk frother. Chai or Yerba Mate for non coffee drinkers?

With the new road-trip machine, Rick, I'd bring everything as the boy scouts recommend. I am hoping to learn to download from my video camera before I get back and would like to take some video.

There are many places to eat (Korean) near A, one place near B. Both have places to get fresh milk for coffee in the AM.

Kyung-Ah makes excellent vegetarian-- hint hint.

Good point Rick re: Halmaebawi-- I really would like to get out there!

Also, who'all else is goinng? Dave, Jeff-- are y'all clearing your schedules?

It sounds great, really great, but the weekend will most likely come and go without me. A few reasons. The 10th is my birthday, so Charissa and I have been planning a little get-together with some old Korean climber friends--watch Pilgrimage or Dosage 3 and hit something local. I haven't climbed in over 5 months because of this back/neck problem, but I think I'm ready to get back into it slowly. Docs on both sides of the Pacific have said no more sports, but hiking (sans backpack) & climbing are OK. They talk about paralysis and surgery. Crazy thing. No excuses, right? Just do it.

The M&G will be grand, I'm sure. I want to hear spray when it's over.

Really, I'm going to hook up with the KOTR fam one of these times.

Well as far as I know, I am going to go! I would really like to do the A and I think I can get camping gear at our Outdoor Rec here on base (Osan) however toting all that camping/climbing gear around on a train would make in impractical. Unless I can hook up with someone driving that can come this way?? "hint hint" I am not sure where this place is according to where I am? Hotel is not a problem either! Any suggestions or ideas gladly excepted

Hey Duan,

I am at the Hump(Camp Humphreys) and am thinking about driving down. The car made it to Yongpyong a three hour drive so I think it should make it that far south. I won't know for sure till that week if I can go do to work etc. My number is on my profile so give me a call and we can discuss it.

My vote is also for A.

If anyone else from this area needs a ride let me know.

grey lines are province boundaries, black lines are rail lines

we just got new contour, hydro, road, park, etc. data for the peninsula so i should be able to provide a better map of the area than my last bawi attempt.

For folks coming in from Seoul: the Honam line leaves from Yongsan-- 2 stops S of Seoul Station on the dark blue (Korea National Railroad) line on the subway. Trains leave(arrive) at: 6:10 (9:52)#1451; 6:35 (8:45)#201; 7:07 (10:45)#1431; 7:40 (9:50)#235; 8:10 (11:54)#1453; 8:25 (10:42)#205, 9:15(12:18)#1061; 10:05(1:43)#1455; 10:25 (12:33)#209 There are more trains during the day, some of the last night trains are 6:25(8:33)#225; 7:05(10:03)#1063, 9:25(11:39)#261. Note the trains with 4 digit #s, 10-- or 14-- are slower and the 3 digit #s, all 2-- are KTX and faster. Busses leave fairly regularly for Jeongeup or better, Gochang from the Express Bus Terminal (dark green and orange lines) and Nambu Terminal. You can just show up and catch the next one. The Express Bus Terminal number is 02)535-4151; finding an English speaker there can be problematic.

I'm really not sure how to get to the rock. I guess from Mokpo I'll have to take a bus to Jeongup, but where do I go from there? Which rock are we meeting at?..Soksal? From Joungup I'm assuming I'll have to take a bus that goes to Soksal, but once I get there, where do I go? I hope you haven't already answered this question. I checked it out on the forum, but I didn't see anything that would help me. I'll probably go early Saturday morning.
Okay. Oh and if anyone needs to check out bus schedules just go to www.kobus.co.kr
All the bus schedules are located there, and in English (top right hand corner).

skinsk
03-04-2006, 06:05 PM
Ricky, if you take the bus (leaving from the terminal NE of town), it's faster to go to Gochang and get a bus for Sununsan (if you can't call someone to get you-- depending on when you arrive maybe). If you take the train from Mokpo, some early late ones include leave(arrive)#: 6:30 (7:37)#202; 7:25 (9:01)#1432; 8:40 (9:40)#206; 9:15 (10:37)#1062; 10:40 (11:40)#210 more during the day and at night: 17:10 (18:31); 18:40 (19:43)#226; 19:20 (20:58)#1440.

skinsk
03-04-2006, 06:52 PM
Busses run from Seoul Kangnam Terminal to Jeong-eup from 6:30-23:30 every 40 minutes and take 3 hours. To Gochang they leave from 7:00-19:00 every 40-50 minutes and take about the same. From Dong-Seoul Terminal, they go to Jeong-eup every 30 minutes 3:30-23:30 and take about 3 hours 20 minutes. Trains run frequently from Yongsan Station and take about 3 hours to Jeong-eup. Local busses run from Gochang to Sununsa from 10:00-5:20, 22 times a day and take about 1/2 hour. From Jeong-eup bus terminal, busses to Sununsa are less frequent and take 40-50 minutes. The camping area is pretty close to the entrance of the park, where the bus drops you off. It's near the youth hostel. There is usually a tourist info booth with maps, or just look for the youth hostel or camping on the giant maps. To get to the climbing, head into the park and follow the directions for the climbing areas on this site. I'll bring my cell phone if anyone is having any difficulty.

I just pm'd these driving directions from Seoul and thought I should post them here too...

-I1 (the Gyeongbu Expressway) south (towards Cheonan) to I25 (the Nonsan-Cheonan Expressway)
---watch for the road split 5km after the Cheonan IC...stay right! (now you're on I25) pass Gongju and Nonsan...
-Stay on I25 at the I125 junction (now you're on the Honam Expressway)
-take the Jeonjup IC exit
-take Route 29 AWAY from Jeonjup (northeast towards Gobu).
---make sure you go back under the expressway!
-in 3km you will take a left onto Route 22
-pass Heungdeok and I15...and check out the map on this thread when i post it this week.

I'd like to go for M&G climb - limestone rock sounds coool..

Anyone's going from Seoul area? Skinsk has written great
directions how to get to the place - but still it'd be nice to
join someone for a travel.. Or maybe even someone is going by car
and has a spare place? :p

The other thing is that I don't have rope & quickdraws (although
I've got harness & eight figure) - how many people are bringing
their ropes? Can I find a climbing partner there?

Eric
03-06-2006, 01:50 PM
i'll bring 2 ropes. 1 is fairly new and the other is good for chill leads and top roping.

i'll bring about 12 draws and 4 slings/draws.

alex_bo, there will be plenty of partners there. what time do you work to on friday night? if you can get down to daejeon fairly early (before 5pm) then i can give you a ride down to seonunsan. on sunday you can take a bus or train from jeongeup back to seoul.

hopefully if people have spare ropes they'll bring them. if you only have 1, bring it because we'll probably need it.

Eric
03-06-2006, 01:54 PM
one more thing, for those who aren't exactly sure how to get there, grab a few cell phone numbers off of member profiles just in case you need some navigational help. mine is posted and i imagine skinsk's and ricardo's are under their profile as well.

skinsk
03-06-2006, 02:10 PM
. . . 10 quickdraws/5 sewn sling-draws, rope, personal gear, gri-gri and ATC w/locking biners, extra chalkbag

partners will be everywhere

brought some schwag back from US for the event. . . not much, but fun

and while Sununsan is arguably the premier climbing area in the ROK, it's also a great opportunity to kick off the season and meet other climbers from arround the country (and maybe your neighborhood), swap information and make plans for the Springtime! Be social, have fun. It's not a competition, but may indeed inspire you to train, or at least get out. It's also a chance to see one of the most beautiful provinces in Korea (I specifically chose to live in Jeonju because of it's proximity to Sununsan, where I spent many weekend when I lived in Seoul). While you're in Korea, might as well see thee best it has to offer.

I also think it's good if KOTR has a more formal presence in the Korean climbing community as it will help us input into the climbing community at large. Too often, we are seen as tourist with no real vested interest in an area, but we can show that we love it and are interested and ingratiate ourselves. The Korean climbers are among the best people you will meet anywhere, and I can say the same about the foreign community -- many I've met and climbed with and adventured with-- that has grown out of this website. The Korean climbers can help keep us informed about events and general issues in Korea.

Anyway, I do hope you will all get out here this weekend and do some meeting and greeting and cooking and eating and climbing, of course!

I will be bringing 10 Quick Draws a rope ATC a couple of Locking bieners etc.

Unless all hell breaks loose I will be heading down on Friday as soon as I can cut sling load... more then likly 1600-1700 No Later Then 1800

I will be going up to Osan on Thursday to get gas so if anyone wants me to take stuff down in my car but ride with others I can do that.

No one has confirmed rideing with me so I still have room for Two from Pyeongtaek. If someone wants to take the subway down and have me pick them up at the train station let me know.

My Cell # is on my profile. If you get to the bus station where ever and can't get out to the rocks you may be able to talk me into coming to get you.

If you are worried about having a partner. You can ask anyone who has climbed with me I am more of a belay slave then a climber...

I have uped my token number of climbs to three for this season...

Talk at you later

So E and Shanja from Daejeon, GPS guy and camera guy from Gunsan (what about Scotty?, or the guy Rick and I met at the wall, er, that guy?), couple from Ilsan and Ricky of octopus/underwear fame from Mokpo? A likely Iksan (it's close enough) and maybe (hopefully) a Busan and of course Mike and whomever is brave enough to drive down with him (though I assume it's a differrent vehicle that's coming so "far'?!) Hopefully the Uijangbu folks. OK, I think we need more Canadians, a Euro or so. . . Sinny may be our Korean representative but he may need help. Mia? I really want the boulderers to give up one friggin weekend to be social! Dave, can't you twist their arms? they can boulder in Sununsan, for Christ sake. We're not going to force anyone tom tie in!! Dee-- ya comin'? Bringing yo posse? Who'd I miss? Anyone want to ring in with a resounding "ME!" Paula? miniD? possum? I know curious J "can't" come, despite all the vegetarians! but I am hoping some E coast/Sokcho folks do! (I really wnt to hit Sorak again with my trad/aid gear and Ullung-do too!

I've got generous corporate sponsors to contribute. . . and we'll definitely get something for the person who travels the furthest-- don't make the Seoul people fight for it!

But really, it's YOU, the anonymous NEW person we want to see most. . . if you've just found the site, maybe you are new to Korea and still shy/overwhelmed/disoriented. . . PM or call me and I'll be sure you can get there and find us. . . and then you're in the club and you can climb anywhere and everywhere you like with partners every weekend! Seriously!

welcome to the site, hulk!

i see you are concerned with exactly what im concerned about, coffee & beer. :becky: i think between all of us there will be PLENTY of food. there are also some good korean restaurants nearby and a really good one about 20 minutes from the crag.

there WILL be plenty of coffee. just bring a cup.

yes you can buy beer there though the stores there might be a little pricier than what you are used to and they will close early. if you are driving, you might bring some with you, otherwise, im sure there will be enough between us and the stores and restaurants.

hope to see you there!

oh sonia, you're gonna be pissed. sorry i can't make it this weekend. was planning the logistics, but too much crap going on. work until 9 15pm on friday, and then my best friend (since, like, 8th grade) is running a marathon on sunday, that i just learned about this morning. definetly wanna be there for that, to mostly jeer him and cause general feelings of apathy for myself...

as far as the other boulderers i know, most are going. jamie of RMT fame is heading to thailand on sunday, so he's out. don't know about paul.

anyway, i hope you guys have a great time!! drink a beer...pleeeease...around the campfire for a brother who hasn't woken up w/ smokey clothes for far too long:( ...

Ok so I went shoping and got some cheese because that is what I have heard the most about from the teachers here that don't have access to a military base. I can bring milk as well since I am going to pack a cooler for the cheese.

Is there any requests for stuff that people can't get normally?

I don't drink beer so I will have all the mixins for dirty martinees.

HMMM???

What else to bring???

quite a few vegetarians?? i figure they'll be in the minority
-my # is on profile too
-yeah, where is Dee hiding?
-anyone from iksan?
-sinny can't make it due to family obligations
-i'll have plenty of coffee (kona), byo cup
-i'll bring a cooler with some non-korean beer
-as for the p-cakes...don't worry, i'll bring maple syrup. you won't need to use hummus as a topping. ;)
-how 'bout a mexi feast sat. night? refried & black beans, spanish rice, cheese, tortillas, etc.
-how many stoves will we need for that?

there's also a restaurant across the pond from Halmei. Nice view of the pond/crag, but can't remember what they served or the $$.

mike, let me know if you want to split the requests.

w00t w00t!! can't wait!!!

Does anyone have extra room for me in their tent? Is that the type of question where you all read it and say, "what the hell is this guy thinking?" Regardless, I have a pad and my bag but no tent here in Korea, suppose I can rent one?

You've got one vegetarian from Iksan planning to go. Anyone that can offer a ride, I won't say no. I can be picked up in Gunsan, Iksan, Jeonju, or Jeongup. Also if you reply to me specifically let me know in PM or email too as I'll check it faster that way.

I'll bring some vegetarian pots, frying pan, and my stove. I can through in what's left of the Krustez Low Fat Oat Bran pancake mix-- good to hear Rick's got real maple syrup! I'll also bring something to go with the Mexican (cajun rice side dish). While in New Orleans I picked up some hurricane mix-- can a base guy get some rum? Celebrate late Mardi Gras? (Mike? Rick? If both of y'all bring some I can make some catagory 5s. . . but that might not be conducive to climbing. . .

Ricky, will you be bringing octopus?

restaurant has pajeon and mook, a little pricy but real nice folks. . . last place to buy crag snacks/drinks . . .

Dave, not pissed (that would be if you threw one of my cams from a cliff!!) just disappointed, but I am sure my disappointment will vanish as I meet and greet all the cool, psyched people that do make it down! I, like Mike, am not a beer drinker, but I am sure someone will step up to the task of drinking one for you.

update: jake (shanja) is driving me and alex_bo(last i heard) down friday night. we'll leave daejeon around 6pm, be at the campground by 9pm... beers in hand. :bigdrink:

Anyone that can offer a ride, I won't say no. I can be picked up in Gunsan, Iksan, Jeonju, or Jeongup. Also if you reply to me specifically let me know in PM or email too as I'll check it faster that way.if you dont already have a ride, jake (shanja) and I can pick you up. we'll be leaving daejeon about 6ish. iksan is not too far from daejeon. can you give us some directions from the IC to a place to pick you up? that would be around 7pm on friday night.

Does anyone have extra room for me in their tent? Is that the type of question where you all read it and say, "what the hell is this guy thinking?" Regardless, I have a pad and my bag but no tent here in Korea, suppose I can rent one?i have a 2-3 man tent. jake has a 2-3 man tent and jake has a truck that sleeps 2. you'll have shelter! no worries.

I, like Mike, am not a beer drinker, but I am sure someone will step up to the task of drinking one for you.I'll have a couple Asahis for you!

as for our car, right now its full but that might change...

I'll take you up on that ride, though I can get to a meeting point at 7:15.. probably 10 minutes from the interchange. Easy to find, just take a right out of the interchange towards Iksan, and you could pick me up at Lotte Mart, which is a straight shot and on the right 10 minutes later. My HP # is 010-8695-3786
We can chat more later to firm things up as well. Personally I'm set for gear, and will bring beer. Also I can offer to bring along some 12 year old Jameson for those fine Irish Whiskey drinkers out there.

Ok, I think i have the final drafts ready...

This map (http://www.rmomsen.com/images/Bawis.jpg) is more printer friendly (less ink usage)
This map (http://www.rmomsen.com/images/BawisImage.jpg) includes the satellite imagery. this is a large file so the imagery wouldn't get all distorted.

note: the scale is only valid on 8.5"X11" paper
shrinking either map to that size shouldn't distort anything, but if it does let me know and I'll fiddle around with the export to get it right.

edit: hey Eric, sorry to take your logo without asking. :becky:

Hey there!

Yeah, I'm still alive and kicking up in Yongin...I've been checking the website, but it's been busy lately so my last post was awhile back. Looking forward to seeing all of you out there and getting pumped to climb back in Seonunsan again!!! I don't know who'll make up the posse this time, but I will probably drag some characters along with me, or be riding in with some... See you guys out there!

Peace,
Dee

Okay #1 Where exactly are we meeting?
At the campground?
At Soksal?
At Mun Bawi?

#2 When? Friday or Saturday and what time?

#3 I don't have a tent, mat, or sleeping bag. Is anyone else going Minbak styles?

#4 Oh and by the way...I don't have any equipment, other than shoes and a harness.

#5 Basically my prescence will not bring anything useful to the group other than tales of battling vicious octopi, and being gagged and tortured by korean immigration (I like to embelish, A!). So are we still cool?

The only camping equipment I've got here is a sleeping bag and a thin mat - so I migh go to Minak unless someone has a spare place in their tent..

OK, is everyone in information overload? Perhaps you've just comitted to coming but didn't figure out your transportation? I've come up with some additional/specific information.

The busses from Jeongeup to Sununsan run just four times a day: 7:10, 11:00, 2:50, 4:30
Keep in mind it's 10 minutes from the train station to the bus station straight down the main road. You can always get a bus to Gochang-- they run every 10 minutes or so.
From Gochang, there are 8 busses daily from the bus terminal where you arrive. From 10AM-5:20PM they run at approximately 1 hour intervals. There are also 24 city busses a day that end up at Sununsan. These busses stop fairly close to the terminal, but you might check with a local.
There are also 8 direct busses a day from Gwangju to Sununsan.

Regarding accomodations: my attempt to borrow from my colleagues was futile. No one has any camping gear. Maybe the people you work are different? Asking around is an option, if not for you, then as a spare. Also, I will bring an extra blanket. . . maybe the car folks could? Or if (hopefully!) too many people show up, minbaks could be shared. At SCC, we could pack 15 people in one room; then again, 5people +3 weeks' gear fit in a Hyundai.

quick note:
Erics map shows a different campground location than mine. Mine points directly behind the hostel while Erics shows it is a little further south (or right on his map). those phone #'s are sure to help!
Wunderground shows decent weather for the weekend...another source says it could rain on Sat and get really cold on Sun. Be prepared...

I'll be arriving late on friday night (possibly 2 or 3am) b/c we can't leave Ilsan (NW of Seoul) until 9pm. So...can someone give me a car to look for or some type of marker so we'll know who to camp with.

Thanks

Good point Rick. . . for all the Californians and others: this is Spring in Korea and this region gets more rain than most of the country. Last time we had a gathering at Sununsan, it stormed Sat night. I just re-seamsealed and coated my tent. It's a good idea to bring a tarp and groundsheets. Wet and cold is not fun when you are trying to sleep. If anyone has extra tarps, bring them, and I'm sure we could fashion something for covered cooking/dining. The best way to ensure great weather is to come completely prepared for the worst!

i just eye balled it from memory, though that map doesn't seem to have the campground.

anyway, just look for the signs and you should be able to find it.

hell, i've never been there...just going off input from an old thread.

melanie, i have a grey galloper with a yellow 'i (heart) hankook' sticker on the back. i can't imagine too many campers will be out there friday night, but i could be wrong.

vtchick, it sounds like you're still undecided, and knowing that by posting your dilemna here you will get plenty of encouragement to join us and climb...i'm guessing that's what you really want to do. (that's my weak attempt at psycho-babble to convince you ;)) seriously though, i'd love to meet another neighbor!

all, sounds like we have the makin's for a mexican feast. i didn't pick up any veggies though. can someone bring some down? also, some limes for the corona would be nice. :becky:

edit: i'm bringing spanish rice, refried and black beans, and mozzarella (and extra tortillas just in case)

Be sure to bring your cameras. I set up a gallery for non-climbing and non-navigational images. The PhotoPlog is for fun, random, whatever pictures.

I'm sure we'll have plenty of, ummm, funny (incriminating) pics to post on Sunday night.

Hi,

I don't really know any of you, but you sound like a lot of fun. So if its not too late, Im gonna join y'all for the meet and greet.

I have minimal camping gear here. It sounds like there's a potluck so, I can either create some Mexican concoction or pitch in some money.

Looking forwartd to it.
