With a little help from my office-mates, I translated the Seoraksan Permit Application forms and sent them to the park office, the National Parks office in Seoul, and the ranger who helped me last time^^. Hopefully they will link it to their website. I tried to translate it in such a way as to get the applicant to put the information as their sample had it in Korea, or as they had me fill in my last one. I will try to figure out a way to post my English translations. So far, just use them as a guide, but download and fill in the Korean version. I needed a URL to link the photos, so I posted them here (http://www.koreaontherocks.com/climbing/areas.php?area_id=255), under navigational photos, which they really aren't:o though they navigate you through the paperwork^^
One application per party is needed, though the information for each climber is required. They want to be sure climbers are properly equipped and prepared for the various climbs, which is smart as they beef up their search and rescue. The permit request should be submitted from 15 to 3 days before you climb. They will contact you-- don't assume permission is granted. You'll need to pick up your form at the park office.
I have copies in Word and Hangeul, if anyone wants one! Please e-mail me, though, as my PMs fill up fast:)
