Windsurfing is one water sport I've done in Korea, if anyone needs info.
Really? Cool!
Where did you do it?
How much was rentals?
Did you get lessons or did you already know how to do it?
Do you have a contact number or website address?

I've been off Daecheon Beach and on the Han River. I think for the Han you had to be a member, but I went with a friend who was! Anyway, there were boards at the "shop" that I "borrowed" but otherwise it was much set up like the place at Daecheon (well, they also lent me a wetsuit, but I didn't do the negotiating). For W30,000, I got two hours or so at Daecheon-- just a basic rental. . . the hardest thing was explaining it was NOT for my boyfriend. (In contrast, in Seoul the person I went with was a female student, and there were quite a few women! No lessons either place, and not used to a current, the river, I didn't do so well in Seoul. Daecheon was more my speed (light wind, no white caps. . .) and the only complaint is that as soon as you get away from the noise of the beach, the lifeguards come by on jet skis to get you back in. The Windsurf places are right on the beach. I suspect, like climbing gyms, most people are members, but rentals were easily arranged and they seem, like climbers, to welcome foreigners. At least on the W coast, I found it a good way to enjoy the beach from another perspective. I can try to get the Seoul info next time I'm in town! The Korean windsurfing website is
http://kwsa.or.kr , but their English page isn't running.

Hey,
So you can't rent at the Han river? What a drag?
I was down in Pusan the other weekend, and did some beach hoppin' to find surfin' and windsurfin'.. We found a rental shop for both at Songjong beach.. The other beaches were super polluted, and I wouldn't think of swimmin' there.. but this one was wicked. The swimming was great. It was 25 thou won for 3 hour windsurfing rental, plus 10 thou if ya wanted a wet suit.. The conditions weren't good for it that day though, so i have yet to windsurf korea! Go now cause the crowds have all gone!

Cool! Especially the prices and wet-suit! Anyway, you may very well be able to rent on the Han; I just went with someone who was able to bypass that step. . . I'm guessing if it was a regular thing, or I had gone on my own, I might have figured out a rental. What were the conditions in Busan?

Is there some spot in particular to go to on the Han???? That's on the back burner in case somethin' else falls through..
Yah, when i was in Pusan the wind was non existant..so i didn't go... But at this beach you start out in a small inlet, but have the entire sea to surf into. I'm itchin' to get back there when the conditions are ripe. It just sucks that you can never know for sure what the wind will do...
i know this was posted years ago but just a tip if anyone wants to go windsurfing, when you get to ttukseom resort station on the han go to the huts where the clubs are number 45 have been renting us stuff for 20,000 and throwing in freebees each time like wakeboarding and stuff... many coz we keep going back but really nice guys pm if you wanna come we go on saturdays!
