Has anyone brought (or seen anyone bring) a bike on a bus/train? There is usually room underneath, but I've never seen it. If anyone is in a local biking group, or reads the MTB mag or has any info on this, I'd appreciate it. Also, I am thinking about bringing my bike home eventually. Has anyone ever taken a bike on a plane? (PM me; I have a few questions)

I brought my bike here this summer from Canada. If you only have 1 piece of checked baggage, then you can bring your bike for free otherwise you'll have to pay for extra baggage. I just put it in a cardboard bike box that i got from a bike shop. That was on Korean Air.

Not sure about bringing your bike on the train, though.

I brought mine with me on my flight from the states and it cost an extra 100-180 I don't remember exactly. I bought a trico bike case witch was a few hundred dollars as well but I have an expensive MT Bike that I did not want messed up and plan on traveliing with my bike in the future.

I will ask some of the KATUSA's that I work with about the bike on the train thing.

One of the KATUSA's that I work with called the train station for me and they said that you can't take a bike on the train with you. :(
