The Initiatives Council will be a small group of KOTR members, 8-12 people, who would like to volunteer their time to review, decide, prepare and complete various KOTR initiatives around South Korea. Our initial thought would be to have a representative from each province (9) as well as an additional representative for each of the major cities, Seoul, Busan and Daegu. Thus a total of 12 members.

This is by no means set in stone, simply a starting point. This council and it's members will be constantly changing, primarily for the same reason we're all here...the love of new experience and travel. Our only function will be to review the various ideas of the KOTR community and decide which initiatives we have the time, resources and ability to complete together as the "KOTR Community." We will then use the KOTR community, our resources and membership to implement them in accordance with all local governing policies and principals.

We encourage everyone to continue all of their own current projects and do not wish for anyone to see this group as some sort of hinderance to your own ideas and/or projects. If we can lend a hand or if you want a forum/place to announce your project, please utilize these forums, just as we would have in the past. Hopefully, in the future, KOTR Initiatives will be available to assist members in completing your projects and ideas. We hope to be a resource, as well, to all community members.

This council is not a way for members to preach our ethics or stand up and shout how things "should" be done. We will complete all initiatives in accordance with local governing laws and with the help, guidance and/or assistance of the Korean Climbing community.
