Does anyone know what the korean word for hangboard is? Where would be the best place to search online to order one, or is there anywhere in suncheon to get one? I'm located way down south on the goheung peninsula in jellanamdo and so there's not much climbing here for the weekdays, so I was hoping to grab one up so that way I can have a little more hang time when we all meet up on the weekends!
Anyways, any info would be great!
Thanks
Chris

ooh, also, where can I find the best deals out here for a rope and some draws? I didn't bring that stuff as I didn't have room in my bags, just brought the harness, shoes, bag and belay etc.

On draws there is a deal at alps-ville.com for draws at 16,000 each. Download Google tool bar and it will translate for you and sort your way through the menus to find the draws.

Hi Chris,
Some of the bigger stores like OK outdoor in Daegu or Mountain bank in Busan may have them in stock but try to get a co-worker to call in advance for you. SK wall make their own too that you should be able to get a Korean friend to Order for you here (http://www.skwall.com/shop/shop_01view.asp?sgubun=5&sgubun5=1&pcode=1110100181002).
If you fancy a trip to Seoul I was in Jungno-5 last weekend. If you walk through the alley from the Pharmacy side and turn left when you get to the black yak store there's a shop a couple of streets down with a Metolius hangboard (the big monster one) for 120,000 or the Woodgrips one for 180,000. I can't remember the shop name but Aunty Heidi will...
A trip to Seoul is probably your best bet for gear, don't be afraid of the prices on Kit, the shop owners will whip out calculators and offer you obscene amounts of discount per se, you should be able to get an absolutely pimping rope for under 300,000 and some draws for even less with some hard bargaining and friendly smiles.
People initially suggested that gear was more expensive here, compared to the US subsidized shopping experience that may well be the case but I'm buying gear cheaper than I can in the UK,
Happy hanging and Jah bless,
W.

You might also check that you can mount a hangboard:)
I agree with Jong-no 5 ga. If I'm going to buy a lot, it's got the most concentrated and biggest selection and there are bargains to be had (the day before I left Korea last time I went there just to walk around and left with a down jacket and shoes I didn't need, but were on super sale. The W5000 stove I bought there in 1998 is still with me!). Price around, but best to buy in quantity from one shop for the best discounts. Plan on a weekend climbing/shopping trip to Seoul. You should go there sometimes anyway.

yeah its always good to make sure that you can have a place to mount them. I hear that Woodie's are pretty awesome though, you dont really need any place to mount them and you can put them wherever you want....
oh wait!
