Hello All,

I'm looking for someone that works with the KAF, or another climbing certification company here in Korea. I am ATTEMPTING to start a program using the AMGA (American Mountain Guide Association) as a provider. The amga is recognized in 20 countries, where as the KAF is only recognized here in Korea. But, my school wants to give the students the option to do one or the other.

So, I have a few questions about the Korean climbing certification process for instructors/teachers. If you know of anyone who can help, email, phone, etc. Even just an owner of a local gym who speaks English could be very helpful! Preferably someone who speaks English, though. I have a few friends who speak Korean only, and it's been tough for me to explain what I'm doing.

Thanks
Bryan

Contact Heidi Bryan, she has links to the KAF I think and they are looking to expand and do more with their International Dept....her moniker is dangerflower. She should be able to hook you up with a KAF person who speaks OK English and is interested in what you are doing.

That's perfect, Heidi is on her way here tonight, so I'll have all weekend to pick her brain! Thanks Jake!

I'd have a word with Dong Il in Busan. Not sure if he has any official qualifications, but speaks great English and is lovely fella. He taught half of Busan to climb and bolted most of the routes. I know there was alpine and climbing programmes in Busan in the spring and early summer this year. Not sure who ran them, but I'm sure Dong Il will point you in the right direction. His handle is just Dong-il.
