Hello. I have just moved to Donghae from the Busan area, and I am looking for climbing partners to frequent Mureung Valley. May head there this weekend if anybody around the area would be keen.

Cheers,
Zac

I`ve wanted to go back there and spot out the potential again. I was there back in January when the waterfall was frozen and so were our fingertips. We did climb, but only about 5 routes. I am sure there are more tucked away. I am not too far from Mureung Valley. I am not sure how exactly to geth there though. Last time, my friend drove. I am more of a bus-train junkie by force.

I'm glad to hear other people are interested in Mureung Valley. I've spent a few weekends there, both climbing and scouting. The climbing was more profitable than the scouting, so I'd be interested in either in the future. One thing about the climbing, thought, is that unless you just love runouts, you'll probably want some gear to accompany your bolt clipping. Fortunately, I have some. I might be up for next weekend if either of you were. And I also have a general direction I'd like to scope out for more potential climbs.

Dusty mate, I've got a trad rack that needs some use too and I know that's a beaut area....how late into the season can we expect to climb there (in reasonable comfort)? I'll be unable to climb-trip untill middle-late Oct at the earliest because of work but if you or others are still keen and the grades not too high, I'd love to come up there and climb with you guys.

zac, you don't have any time free on thursdays, do you? i'm at the uni here in gangneung and have thursdays off this semester. i'm not sure about next weekend now. we were supposed to head to seoul this weekend, but it may be pushed to next now.

jake, i will totally be up for mureung at the end of october/ early november. i'm training for the chuncheon marathon, which happens on october 25th. after that, i'll be keen to get back on the rock. don't know if you've been, but the climbs i've done in mureung are great for entry/novice crack climbing, especially if you're a burned out sport climber. lots of 5.8+ to 5.10- cracks with a few bolts for good measure. let's make plans in a month or so.
