New to climbinb

Hi, i have never really been climbing before and don't know where to start. Does anyone have any pointers for me? Anything would be a great help.

hey erica,
the best way is to just get out there and try it.....however, if you don't have equipment I would suggest going to the boramae climbing wall-i think they rent shoes and a harness for like 5,000 won. that way you could just show up there one evening and give climbing a try and see if you like it before you invest in any gear....

Erica..what I would reccomend is look up an upcoming trip on the forums that has a good lot of responses and plan on joining the KOTR gang on a crag. Everyone is more than willing to share gear, if you don't have any and would love to introduce you to climbing. It is the best way, as you will get an accurate idea of how much fun climbing on real rock is. We have a trip going out to Yeongso-Pokpo on the weekend of August 15th. Join us, you won't be dissapointed. : )

Cool, as the trip comes closer..I shall give you directions on how to get there. You can also look it up on this website. It is called Yeongso-Pokpo..It is in Guryegu. Let me know about where you are located and I can give you detailed directions on how to get there and some cell phone numbers of people that will be making the trip, so you can get a hold of us if you get lost.

another thing you might do is fill out your profile a bit and let everyone know a bit about you. . . soon you'll have climbing pics :) but you can always use an interesting Korean/hiking/whatever pic for now. . . welcome to climbing!!
