Hey there everyone!

Just wondering if anyone can help me out. Does anyone know if there are any good places to climb in southern Japan, near Fukuoka, Nagasaki or Hiroshima? I know that the rock there is probably volcanic, so there should be good climbing, but I don't know of any crags.

If anyone does know of some, or knows of a good website or book that I can research, any info that you could pass on would be greatly appreciated.

Take care!
Heidi

P.S. - Still planning to go to Ganhyeon, Seonunsan, and some crags around Daegu or Busan in the next 10 days or so, come out and join if you're interested! Everyone's welcome!

Check out the following pages.

There is one famous rock climbing area called Mikuradake in Hiroshima. This place is also known for the artificial wall named Maronwall. I never been there but heard it is great fun with a lot of routs. Some climbing journals are published in every month or two but they are all in Japanese unfortunatey.

Otherwise, Naganoken is the Mecca for Japanese climbers with beautiful camp site and Onsen. Ogawayama is the one and you can find several websites about it in English.

Good Luck.
