Busan Bouldering NEW secret area this Sat!

So, I've had a dirty little secret for over a month. I found a new area, but was saving it for when a close friend came back. Unfortunately she aint comin back. The good news for YOU though is that I will release it's location this saturday... Saturday... SATURDAY!

I have spied some sick hard lines here along with some nice highballs. And each time I go back to look around I see more.

WHERE?
Guseodong subway stop in Busan. Meet in front of E-Mart.

WHEN?
9:30 a.m.

Why?
Because it will rock your lame ***. Now quit being a lazy ******* retard and come climb some **** with us. The weather is nice, no excuses.

Oh yeah, and if any out of towners want to join, my new apartment is very close and I can fit 20 or 30 people on my floor depending on how you slice them.

I'm down but I have checked out the transportation specs, and it looks as though the earliest I can arrive into Busan from Gwangju would be 9:40 sat morning...I could however race to the bus stop Friday night after work and try and catch the 8:00 bus- arriving~12:00- roll out the thermarest and snooze til 9:00. Anyone going to be arriving via bus? Maybe we could hook up and find the subway stop together. I do need directions from the bus terminal to the subway station. Oh, and I have never bouldered outside before- so be gentle, its my first time.

From Nopodong its easy to hop on the subway (its at the end of the line....) to Guseodong (7/8 stops I think.....). I'll be heading down saturday morning so I can meet you at Nopodong if you want. The only options for Gwangju are Non-stop busses, not express- the website says that I will be arriving at Busan Seobu intercity bus terminal. Is this Nopodong? Ermm!!!

1: You will arrive at Sasang (사상) station it is on the green line No. 2
2: Take the green line in the direction of Jang san (장산)
3: change at So Meun (서면)
4: Take the orange line No. 1 towards Nopo Dong (노포동)
5: five stops before the end of the line is Gusoe Dong (구소동)
6: Get off.


It will take 43 minutes once you are on the train.

All the other arrangements are up to you I am just giving information as to the Subway, and there in the taking of.

P.S If you are carrying the bouldering Mat also carry you WAKO protections, as you will no doubt meet a few WAKOs.

feel free to post up if you're coming and need us to change the time. i'm easy as sunday morning. just name the time and i'll be there. if someone is going to be extra late i can take everyone up to let them get started and then i can run back down for anyone else.

count on a 40 min hike (including street). it can be a lot faster, but you'll be sucking wind. i went back up this morning to look for easy stuff, and found one amazing V0ish and a few V1ish ones. Don't hold me to the ratings though.

My favorite boulder looks like it has about 6 or 7 lines that range from easy to friggin hard.

Im coming from Daegu and I'll be meeting Charles at 9.45ish at Nopodong. For the sake of everyone getting in on time I propose all of us heading to Nopodong meet before 10am next to the ticket machines inside the subway entrance, (its in the same building as both the town bus and the express bus midway between the two ends) and then travel down in convoy to meet outside Emart at 10.30am. Sound like a plan Uncle-Jason?

If anyone has some duct tape BRING IT! We will need to tape some brushes on sticks for some highball cleaning. most of the boulders are clean already, except for the biggest one.

the family mart by the subway sells YA energy drinks and KGB to assure that you will have the power to crush stone. (please note: the combination of the two hasn't actually been tested yet, but i'm a scientist so i'll be glad to collect some data)

HERE IS THE PLAN

SATURDAY
meet at 9:30a.m. at oncheonjang in front of Home Plus. we will then go up to "warm up" on A Language Older Than Words at the Zoo Boulders. Sometime around 11:00 to 11:30 we will meet at the base of the cable car to ride it up for a little scenery followed by a send fest at the main cable car area, maybe the white rope area too, but that may be pushing it.

SUNDAY
it's up to the Seoul Crew, but I'm guessing we'll hit the new rockslide area. It seems noob friendly to me, but I was told it's not.

Everyone is welcome to crash on my floor. There will be a small army on Sat Night crashing there, and anyone is welcome to crash tonight too. Just head to the Guseodong subway stop, and text me then I'll meet you there.

I just added minutes to my phone so you can call for directions on Sat morning blah blah blah. I'll probably miss your first call but don't give up try me again.
